Amen! What about the shit with the car insurance. They threated to suspend you if you don't show your own car insurance. Why should you have to haul these individuals in your own person vehicle? Your insurance WILL NOT cover you if you are in an accident. If you call your insurance company they will tell you that you have to have commercial insurance to be covered. They have vans, why not use them? God knows these people pay enough to be living there.

I agree about the grocery comment also. They shop at the most expensive place in town. I say go where you get the most for the money. It is a pity that these people can't get away from putting money back into the company.

Good for you pissed! Someone needs to stan up to this scum of a company. I tried and am still trying. They need to be shut down or have a select few out of the managment positions, like the heifer and hairy.

Yeah the insurance thing is bogus! The company wanted employees to lie if they were in an accident with an individual! What kind of company is that? One that wants you to lie! Says a whole lot for the company doesn't it? See the company doesn't care!

I don't blame you. They need to clean house. Start at the top and work down. What is the deal with all the married couples supervising each other? How can you (fairly) supervise someone that you are married to? Not possible. It is in the handbook that it is only allowed with special permission. What idiot gave that special permission. It is a conflict of interest, in my opinion.

Must be one of the brown nosers. How long have you worked there? must be a long time to be making 10 ahour. cause I know people who's worked there for 8 yrs that aren't making that. they gave .25 raises across the board last yr and no raises this year said they couldn't afford it but they bought a brand new house about 5 mos ago. should have took that money and put it towards raises. we deserve it, we work hard and it's not a easy job to care for the mentally handicap and about the grocery thing I agree they have to shop at the most high place in town, and these little people don't have the money to do that with. I say shop where you can get the most for the money. cause I'm getting tired of bring in grocery or ordering out and having to pay for it cause the little individuals don't have what they want to eat or the money to order out. I love the people I work with and just want the best for them any good employee would. but there is alot of things that you people on here don't know what you are talking about until you work there. unless you are again a brown nosers.

They make more money at the Richmond, Somerset and Campbellesville sites. Maybe they are the ones making 10.00 an hour. I know it sure is not the London site. It is pitiful when they want something to eat and they don't have any money. That company KNOWS that anyone with a heart will buy it for them.

Yeah you talk about the houses, what about the $6,000 copiers or the christmas parties. They can give away brand new impalas, big screen tv's and playstation 3 that only the brown nosers win. They should have gave a raise to help everybody!

Overtime is not required. If you want to work 40 hours a week, you do have a choice. I can't believe people would get on here and complain about having the opportunity to get overtime every week no matter what. You must be doing very well to be complaining about being offered overtime.
If you want to affect change, Topix is not the place to complain. Go through the proper channels and things will get done.

I worked for independant for a while I couldnt take it, they miss treat the individuals they go all day on those buses without anything to drink other than with lunch and it would be hot out and I myself would be thirsty. The manager dont want to use much gas so they make the driver and everyone sit in parking lots or just off somewhere and sit all day so they dont use gas and the people that cant get off the van to use the restroom use it on theirself and have to wait till they get back to the center to change. At the adt center the ones that cant speak will go ALL day without drinks other than Lunch I have seen some of the ones that are able to get drinks so sit their drinks down and others run as fast as they can and grab it and drink it. the management would get upset and say that is a behavior WHAT do they not think these people may be thirsty. Let me explain something This organization gets more money if the individuals are out in the community learning to become independant so they send them out of these vans but do you see most of them are not getting to socialize they sit in the van and in parking lots they can be ill throwing up on everyone in the van some soaked in their urine some with bowel movements on them being in torment strapped in all day while the good old company is sitting back getting paid for this.... Tell me WHY is this allowed?????

It doesnt do any good either to say anything because this company owns the businesses and homes and other businesses in town and Money always talks and the big wigs always get away with anything.I just wish these individuals families cared enough about them to check into that place and get their loved ones out.. they make it seem as if its a good thing and its not. this one poor fellow his mother is very well off and famous and he is here WHY I dont know but I'm sure if she knew the truth about this place he would be here all he does is sit at a table allll day by himself and if he tried to get up they make him sit right back down

Response to #30. If you work SR, your regular work week IS 64 hours. Chain of command? What chain of command? Your comments go only so far, and if you go over her, you get threatened with suspension or termination.

first of all you must work in the adt. cause if you work the houses its 64hrs shift MANDATORY. read your benefits letter that Diane gave out last yr. it states on there if you work the houses its Mandatory Overtime. you work 4 16hr shifts or a straight 64 on the weekend. and if you work there you should know that. and this choice you are talking about if you ask to be bought down to 40 you are quickly reminded that its a mandatory 64hr shift and if you can't work it then maybe you need to find another job. the complaints get shot down as quickly as they come out of your mouth. since you work there what are the proper channels cause several of us can't seem to find any channel but the one that gos to fuzzy empty space in management heads.

I'm curious why any of you are still there. go away. nobody wants a bunch of complainers.

Support Pool works 40. It is considered a promotion to get the 64 hours. So consider yourself lucky. Try finding another job in the area where you don't have to have an education and you get paid like you do.

It is not the overtime people are bitching about, it is 64 STRAIGHT hours with no break away for even 15 or 30 minutes. The overtime is not the issue, the rate of pay for the RESPONSIBILITY involved is the issue. The management is also a bone of contention.

support pool works more then any 40hrs in most cases. and its not considered a promotion. I don't know what you are talking about I know people who are working it and most of the time they work more then 40. we are a bunch complainers, you must be new or a suckup and not had the all fight worn out of you dealing with the individuals or management. if you stay there long enough you see what we are talking about. and its not the overtime that most of us a fussing about its the rate of pay for all the work and responsibilities we do and have.

What planet are you from...or is this one you know whos flunkies. Anyone with half a brain would know that over time these hours would get to anybody, but does the company care or offer mandatory vacations to people or some type of counseling to employees who work so many hours. I can tell you this much it has caused a strain on my marriage, I have high blood pressure (that I never had before)I keep diahrea constantly and keep a headache. My immune system is shot because I am in such close quarters with these people over an extended time and catch anything they may have picked up. YOU may ask why I have stayed so long, well you get used to the income before these things start kicking in. My health though is no big deal to them though because they can replace me with some other idiot who can only see that big paycheck. Dont fool yourself all you are is a body covering a shift, they dont care who you are as long as they dont have to sit in that house. At one time I thought I was a valued employee and thought well of the company and my supervisors, but know I wouldnt piss on the place if it was on fire.

Can I say Hell to Yeah, Pissed!!! There are employees that have pulled and tugged on these individuals so much that they have hurt themsselves. Company does not care. I agree, all you are is a body to fill the void. If you do a good job, GREAT! If you do not, WHO GIVES A SHIT!

Then, they start taking in children. Children with G-tubes! Mother of pearl. That is skilled nursing care. This is not a medical facility! I do not blame anyone for not wanting to work with it. The ADT did not want to mess with it, and did not have to. What kind of shit is that. They got the medical coordinator there, why could she not give a tube feeding? Because the poor soul probably did not know how. She is a nice lady, but they REALLY need someone with some common sense. Bless her, she may be an academic genius, but common sense is definately NOT her forte.

I feel so sorry for the individuals that live there. They don't even get treated the way they should. But you let the STATE come in and everyone is to be on their best behavior. Management is more manipulative than the individuals. I loved my job, but I won't take no bull off of nobody. So therefore, I was forced to leave because of it.
