H & R Block is rip off for sure and if you take
your refund on there debit card it is really a rip off , one year it cost me way over 100.00 trying to get my money from it. I would never take another one.

I went to H&R block today. I have a simple form, just one dependent, no other detuctions and stuff like that. It cost me like 150 dollars to file. I also chose to get the money on there debit card. Hopefully it doesn't charge alot to use it. I am not sure how I understand it.

If you have access to a computer Use TurboTax Online. Go to WWW.IRS.GOV Click on the freefile link on their page. Choose The box I will choose company. Then choose TurboTax.If you are below 34000 you can do your taxes and e-File them for FREE. Have your refund direct deposit in bank account in 2-3 weeks. If you get the Check mailed to you it will take 3-4 weeks to get your refund. It is not that hard to do. I have used it since 1997 and have never had a problem with it. Always had refund in Bank within 3 weeks. Do it yourself and keep your $$$$. Hope this Info Helps.

I have to agree with turbo tax. I've used it for several years, you don't have to do just the short form, you can itemize or whatever it takes. It is real easy step by step instructions. They tell you what forms you need to do by what information they gather from you at the very first. Each year then you don't have to reenter all the standard info unless of course the info changes like new kids, address change and so forth. I have my refund direct deposited no charge. They charge for those debt cards as does everyone the fee is like $29.95 so to put your refund on a debt card is crazy in my opinion you are just giving your money away. But these other places don't tell you that there is an added fee for that unless you ask because they are making more money off of you if you get the debt card.

If you had such a simple tax return, why would you take it to H & R Blockhead? Oh, I'm sorry, that makes you the blockhead!

I'll tell you people what to try, get your taxes done and then go to turbo tax, sign up, do your taxes online and then see if they match what the other guy did. Just because you do them online doesn't mean you have to file them or use their program. You can print them out and then just delete it, they give you plenty of time to back out on it before it comes down to the filing part. This way you can see how easy Turbo Tax is to use and be confident that it is right or at least matches what you filed this year.
