I think it’s despicable that Flowers can work people from a temp agency for a whole year and then decide to let them go. This should be against the LAW…They should only be allowed to work this people for 3 months at which time they should be hired or let go!!!!

Why?

Most employment regardless of whether a person is hired through a temporary employment agency or directly by the company is "at will" meaning a person can be let go at any time, for any reason or no reason at all.

Isn't it better to have had income for a year rather than 3 months?

When you hire thru a temp agency legally in thier contract somewhere they have to give the employer a certain amount of time to hire the employee. Not sure what agency you went thru but usually its 90 days they have to either hire you or let you go. They cant drag a contract out a year or at least they arent supposed to.

They are supposed to hire after a certain time but most don't. They will work people way past the time stated or they will let them go and hire in a new bunch just before the time is up. They use different tactics but they screw people over on a regular basis.

And remember these are companies that got tax breaks and other breaks to help them screw over the people of Laurel and surrounding counties!

They need to be reported for that crap. Seriously, im pretty sure its a law at least it is in some states that they have some, 90 days or 6 months to hire you or release you. They shouldnt do people that way thats just dirty. And to beat it all i used to deal with temp services the company actually pays them double what they pay the employee so not sure what they are gaining with this.

Its a damned shame that they keep people as temps for so long before hiring....how many good people holding key positions have they lost in the past,,,,,simply because they had to better themselves and their families,,,and could not hold out any longer,,,,I know of two...Adults have bills to pay and mouths to feed.....Either hire them or let them go....This Practice really screams....MISMANAGEMENT ...

I worked there 11 months before I was hired and have been there for four now. Suck it up. They just hired some that have been there 3 years as temps. Least they have a job. If we r not hiring we ain't hiring. U have to not be a cry baby and wait it out a lot of places that say ill be hired in a certain amount of time only replaces u with another temp when ur times bout up
