does anyone know of some affordable places to hold a wedding and reception in london,ky? My fiance and I have only lived here for about 6 months and we are planning our wedding to take place in August. I just need some ideas on places that will allow me to hold the wedding at the same location as the reception. such as a church with a reception hall, maybe. any help is much appreciated. thanks!!!

It also depends if you have been married before. A lot of churches here won't allow divorced people to have weddings in them. The clubhouse at Levi Jackson State Park would make a good place if you don't mind if it's outside a church. Quite a few people around here like to go to Gatlinburg to get married.

How about Golden Corral? The preacher does his thing, you go to the buffet, eat as much as you want and its over.

I know a few people that have gotten married at "The Barn" at Sweet Hollow. I've been there for a wedding once and it was pretty nice.

Do you have to be a member of these churches in order to get married in and by the preachers of these churches?

The Party Barn is closed down for parties. Someone bought it to lease out office space.

Some churches will let non-members use their church for a fee. I haven't had personal experience with this, but I know others who have.

Most require you to be a member of the church (or club, that's what they really are).

Corinth Baptist Church is beautiful and also has the video screens if you are planning on using videos during the ceremony. I know of several non memebers that have used the church for their wedding as well.

You don't usually have to be a member of the church, but services are generally much cheaper or free if you are.

How about not getting married at all? If you want to take a great relationship and turn it to complete sh!t, then just run out and get married. Don't do it, you'll thank me someday.
