"Last year was not bad." They loaded up on 1A teams. Schools that are so small that practically had to start guys on both sides of the line. And playing in a very down district helped as well. When will you Larry lovers come around to the idea it's time for him to start stepping?

Would be glad to chew you out if I knew who your chicken behind was and if he does complain anyone watching the game that has any sense knows 90 percent of the time he has to run the ball the other teams are double covering his runners , a little blocking, and as far as interceptions THEY ARE NOT ALL his fault same things that are happening would happen to any qb but as everyone says its all the qb fault when the season is going bad and good when it's good TRUE FAN (BIG CHICKEN INSTEAD)maybe you could be our mascot put a big chicken suit on you and let you strut your stuff see if we could guess who you are since you want tell you are the one who is pitiful

A lot of teams play guys both ways, not just single A schools, you fans are stupid for not knowing that, Corbin played a lot both ways, even Knox did too. You fans are out of touch with football and should coach the team yourself.

Ok seriously you ppl think we have soooo much talent and its all the coaches fault? WE have no defensive line this year because most of them graduated last year! We have a few boys out there but 2 or 3 guys cant hold the whole line together. You ppl act like Laurel Co. is some big football county that has suddenly went to hell! This isnt fact, this county has NEVER been big on football it has always been basketball....so stop acting like a bunch of nuts! Ppl have been running their mouths on here since Larry started coaching and before....Last year we won games and ppl still were not happy saying we loaded up on 1A schools, a win is a win no matter who you play and it gave the kids confidence and hope! So it was a positive thing! If you ppl are so worried about the situation, I will expect to hear that there are at 100 applications for the head coach position when Larry does retire!!!!! Get your asses out there and see how well you can do!!! Its not as easy as you all think it is! Go Cards!!!

I have been to all the home games and one away game and have watched coach welch on the sideline after a friend of mine said he just stands there with his arms crossed and thats what he seems to do. He don't even wear a head set. why not? He just seems like he has turned this year over to the rest of the staff to me.

I was looking at my sports section of the news paper last week and it showed the bleachers at one of the soccer games and they were empty. Everything in the laurel co school systems seems to be down but the taxes we have really got to get the support going behind these kids it's not just football that is down it's everything. If we don't watch it will be basket ball next. thank you and enjoy the chicken festival

Po has 10 years of college coaching experience. Transitioned to HS coaching at Spencer County where he was the HC for 3 seasons. He had 2 winning seasons and won district coach of the year. I highly doubt that he is the problem at South Laurel.

A real coach doesnt throw his players under the bus like he did in the newspaper. To say that he told these kids to watch out for that 2 point conversion play and they must not have been listening. Are you f!@#ing kidding me? Do you want me to put on here what he really told the kids "coach"? Then he goes on to say "I figured surely to goodness we would defend the tight end, but we didnt." Thats because you only know one defense douche bag. I dont know if anyone told you this, but its your job to coach them and point this stuff out, genius. But then again you would have to have a headset on so people could talk to you or have any clue what you was doing. You stay classy Welch.

Why doesn't welch wear a head set? I guess there has to be a reason. I have always wondered. He also just stands there 90 percent of the time with his hands crossed like he is doing nothing. He maybe be doing more than it appears but he sure acts like he could give a rats behind whats going on and hates being there. Just doesn't appear involved much for a head coach to me.

Oh, but I guarantee he'll be around for another season or however long he likes. That's how we do it down here in good ole London. The "who you know" club really keeps this place from thriving. Name another place where a coach can look as clueless as Welch and keep his job year in and year out. Does he have family on the school board or something?

If he was district coach of the year at Spencer County, why is he a positional coach at a 5A school in southeast Kentucky? There are plenty of schools in the Louisville area. Why did he leave?

Family reasons. Like I said, the problem does not lay with Coach Po. Look a little higher up. I'm not even blaming the state of the program on Welch. He's allowed to do what he does.
