I've heard she use to party down at the moose, even stole her best friends boyfriend and later married him, now thats a decent human being I tell ya, plus she use to smoke and now she acts as if she's above it, never done it, when truth be told she probably cause some cancer herself from her second hand smoke, just saying!!

London/Laurel County has its own little clique. Always has. Always will. It will stay like this as long as the decent, commonsense people slumber and refuse to vote the bunch out. They keep recycling the same bunch, or people of like-minded bunch. I’m nearing 60, and I remember my family and others talking (40-45 years ago) about how crooked London/Laurel County was back then.

Same ole people or their family has always run this town and they dont want nothing new around here , it surprizes me that london has some of the chain restaurants , walmart and lowes
i dont shop in london and never have unless it is something i need really bad quick . you know today gas is only 3.56 & 3.57 on both corbin exits and i think here today 3.79 and cheapest 3.76 its always cheaper there sometimes as much as 35 cent on the gallon.

Your right about gas prices. I haven't bought gas in London since Corbin started beer sales. Go every Saturday, buy groceries, beer and fill up the vehicle. I always check London gas prices before going and I usually save 4 to 5 dollars on a tank of fuel. I have to wonder why there is so difference between gas prices at Krogers in London and Corbin. Corbin Kroger is much cheaper. Makes so sense.

All I know is that city council needs a whole new council None of them on it is worth a dime for nobody but their family and their pocket. Why does the people keep voting them in is beyond my wildest imagination.

London’s politicians have their own clique group (just enough crony voters) to keep voting them back in. Much of London, and Laurel County, don’t even bother to vote in the local elections—that’s how the same bunch stays in office. I’m waiting for the day when the ordinary (the regular folks, the poor folks, and the outcast folks of Laurel County) are on the ballot.

Why are do people keep voting them in? Because no one elses runs for office. If people in London truly want change then they are going to have to step up to the plate and run. Why didnt the latest annexation pass? because City Council wanted the Tax money wanted to wait five years to provide services but the big I gotcha to city council was once the area was annexed then people could run against them in an election and they would have no part of that.

Visit Weaver’s Hot Dogs, and take a look at the photos hanging on the inside walls. That’s who has, and still does run Laurel County—and that’s who will always run this County unless the good people of Laurel County wake up and put new people (people who have a heart to “serve” all the citizens) on the ballots, and then get out and vote.

If you don’t know better, you would think London and Laurel County was built by only those people in those photos hanging on the walls of Weaver’s Hot Dogs. But that’s not true at all. My grandfather, many years ago, lived 8 miles out on old West 80. He never owned a vehicle. And every spring, he would “push” his push mower to London, and store it there at a garage for the duration of the mowing season. Every morning (6 days a week) he walked to London and mowed different people’s yards, and walked back home every evening. There is no photo of him hanging on Weaver’s “Hall of Fame” wall, just as there are no photos of the many others who were decent, hardworking souls that labored and helped make London what it is today.

It probably wouldnt matter if some new people did run. They know the votes are fixed anyway. It doesnt matter. The city has the votes fixed for who will get in. Thats how london is. Always been run by a bunch of crooks.

Term limits are the only way we can avoid, the problem of power grabs. It seems anytime someone is elected in office, they are there for life.

Disliked politicians stay in office, as do their friends and family, not because they are well-liked by the majority—but because they have brainwashed and frightened the populace. I think it’s immoral whenever the same rich bunch, along with their friends and families, can stay in power generation after generation. Such tradition breeds poverty and prevents the poor, decent folks from ever getting a chance to hold elected office.
