This "news" story is ridiculously sensationalized, tainted and missing facts. I received more information from the comments blog than your so-called story. You name the accused, without the slightest care that this scenario may not be completely accurate. Apparently there were witnesses - did you interview them? Some how your investigative genius lapsed when you never decided to look into the fact that the "victim" is one of the most well-known drug dealers in the area. Perhaps you have a relationship with this person because you have failed as a reporter - maybe not as a friend.

I would like to know when the police are going to investigate this Cody guy/drug dealer and his girlfriend and find out how they are involved.

The reporter, to be fair, should either not mention any names or all names. He should also research his facts, because the girlfriend was 17, not mid-twenties as mentioned.

It'll be interesting to see what investigators will find out. You don't just stab someone over nothing. Something is just not making sense.. whether it's drugs or this attacker has mental issues.. something is missing. I hope the victims recover well, but i hope they haven't created a situation where justice comes back and bites them in the ass.

While I agree with you on your observations about the journalistic integrity of this article, I have to say that simply because someone is a known drug dealer does not mean they are an evil person. Rehabilitation, as opposed to retaliation, is the best route for people like Mr. Wisecarver. And must we all forget that he is someone's son, older brother, or grandson? Everyone has another side to their story, and perhaps this is the greatest fault of all in this story. The investigation was poor. The vilification of one man over another is tasteless. Most importantly, a young couple's life was put in danger, for whatever reason, and all you can focus on is someone's past indiscretions.

this is for Hallinator. the so called drug dealer is a grown man, he knows his right from wrong. this sounds like to me that he has been in this type of bizzness for a long time. i think he should of thought about recovery a long time ago. however he continued to mix himself up in that life style now this leads me to believe that he likes this lifestyle and continues to live by it. i would never wish death apon someone however he got what he deserved, and now this maybe a wake up call for him. sometimes it takes a good ass beating to kick start someone in the right direction. these two young couple put themselves in danger. as far as someones past indiscretions. history for this guy should of never repeated itself he should of not been playing with fire to begin with. and if he decides after his recovery to go back to this type of lifestyle well then again he is asking for it all over again.

Great post, will he bother to read it? Does he even care? I've observed that his form of journalism is shoddy, leaving out crucial info and leading with little facts and much innuendos! Sad state of affairs, extremely poor standards over at the IJ!
