Review: Asha Salon Spa Oakbrook

This salon was a joke. I got $100 in gift cards for Christmas, and the salon was running a promotion for 50% off first service. I called to make my appointment and specifically asked if I could use the gift card with the promotion. The person said of course and booked me an appointment. My hair dye job is nothing like I asked for, and the cut is horrible and was not even styled. When I finished, I went to pay and was told that I cannot use the gift cards with the service because the cards were purchased at Costco (which I had no idea because they were a present - and I verified they'd be accepted on the phone). The manager called corporate and told me that I had to pay them the extra money, or not use the gift cards and use the promotion, either way I was paying an extra $70. When I explained that I did not have the extra money (which is why I checked this on the phone) I was threatened to have the police called on me. I explained that would be fine, since I didn't understand what I did wrong, that it was the receptionist's fault. I will never return to any Asha establishment. Worst experience ever!

When I first made my appointment I was a bit put off by the person that answered the phone. She wasn't rude, but she wasn't nice either.
I went to Asha Salon today for the first time.
The atmosphere was great, they offered me a relaxing cup of tea, and placed the warming pad on my neck/shoulders.
First I saw Angie for color. She is great. I had neglected my color and highlights and had a lot of regrowth. She was able to darken my all-around color by one shade for fall, and touch up the highlights as well. The color is beautiful
Next I met with Moe for a haircut. I have shoulder-length, thin hair. She went over a few options for adding bounce and volume. I can't tell you how pleased I am with the result.
All in all I would give Asha/Lombard a 9 out of 10 rating.
There was a $20 coupon, offered for a return visit, on the web site if you made an appointment on Labor Day. When I was checking out and asked about this all I received was a blank stare.
Will go back again. I think I have found a new home salon.
