My wife was at Sacred Heart Catholic Churh she herd the crash called me I was at Church & Daycreek blvd. It was 11:10 AM when my wife called. I was on my way to the Police & Fire Recognition lunch in Rancho Cucamonga. It is know 11:15AM I can see the 15 south is stoped. I turned in to the Bass Pro Shop Parking lot which runs along side of the freeway. I could see motor officer entering the south bound off ramp at Foothill going north bound. I saw them quickly park there bikes I knew someone was in the lanes they were running to help. I could see what was left of a van. You could not tell it was a van. It looked like it had gone through the crusher at the junk yard. I cheched along the bottom of the freeway but every thing was going up on top. I called my wife back and told her you need to say a prayer for who ever was in that van. The Fire Engine had just arrived they went the same way as the motor officers. They would have responded and engine that entered on Baseline heading South I did no see that engine he would have been in the center divider. After the lunchen I drove back through the Bass Pro Shop parking lot. The freeway was close SB I could see most of the cars and truck in the accident. It looked like they had a crane out there I could see what they were doing they had the boom extened. My heart an prayers go out to the families.

What a tragedy. God be with the familes. I have lived in the area since 1988 and have seen and heard very many fatal accidents right along the same stretch of freeway. I really don't know what it is, but this stretch has caused many, many fatal accidents. I feel terrible to hear of such an accident.

A few years ago a Fire Cheifs son got killed on that strech of the freeway. He made enough noise that Cal Trans installed the K rail in the Center Divder. It helped. It sounds like this accident was a tire blowing out hitting the van with a trailer send him out of control. Hit head on in the oncomming traffic. They said he went over the Center Rail filped over was on his top when he hit the other car. It was just a bad accident. I do not think there is any thing we could have done unless we find out the car that caused the accident had a bad tire.

Our hearts and prayers and thoughts full of hope go out to the Taru family. We used to live in Loma Linda and knew your father Viorel. It was only 2 days ago that we were talking about him with a friend from Onesti. And today we got the tragic news. It goes to show how vulnerable we are - we are vapor. But we know we have not just hope, but assurance in Jesus Christ, our Lord, Savior, and Resurector. God bless till we see you again.

we're deeply saden for vic's family, it's the toughest thing to accept and to try to understand, our lord for sure has vic in heaven, a brave and strong man like him was a prime example on how to take care of your family regardless of how big the obstacle was. the last time i spoke to him he was very happy to finally have all his kids and wife from europe.god only knows why things happen in a blink of an eye, our sympathy goes for his grieving family; i know for sure we'll meet again.
