Just read the paper about the fellows opening the pour house on erie. Im a little ashamed at the terms once again set by the newspaper, "we hope to create a music scene in Logansport" wtf? do they no actually live here? I know hes gone now but steve kinder (r.i.p.) was a huge force at the bungalow in giving bands a shot and having entertainment often from comedians to metal bands, polsis was a huge venue for a long time having bands twice a week plus open mic nite every week for many years... the neighborhood has picked up the torch even as recent as this weekend having a blues band that plays at the slippery noodle. They also have a weekly open mic nite and weekly entertainment of all varieties. the boondockers has hosted several all ages show of all types of music and the local churches have had several events yearly for their youth groups...
There is a music scene here and has been for some time, many stages and many nights have been closed out entertaining the citizens of this town and continue over and over again. If these gentlemen truly believe there is no scene i hope they rectify it this view very quickly. There have been many before and will be many more after and as a local entertainer I would like to see them add to it and respect it not "create" whats already here.
