I agree Equity, not all children do have that support that they need. I am sure you have seen that happen, however, I have not. My children have been at Justice for 4 yrs and I have never seen or heard of any child being moved to another school. If a child is in distict they go to that school, and the transfers are decided on whoever is willing to stand in a line in the middle of the night. I have heard of what you are speaking of, I just have not seen it happen since my child has been at that school, that is not to say I "know" everything. If that does happen, thats wrong. I just want to say one more thing, about test scores, Justice does well, but it hasnt had the highest, so I dont necessarily think that applies.I didnt participate in this conversation, to ruffle feathers or start trouble. I know Equity did not say what was said to do that either, but to "my 2 cents", you don't call someone out for no reason, nothing was said to you in the first place.

The only reason I called you out (not to fight).. but to get some insight.. What do they do for the kids there? I would like to know. We have been there a lot longer than you have and I have never seen the staff do what other school have done for the kids. Yeah.. they have that carvinal the last 2 years.. but we had so many stupid rules about it.. what is the point? It is ran like a private school.. and that makes me sick! No costumes cause the board said no.. that is BULLCRAP! Logan Grade wears costumes. I can understand no mean, gross.. but If my daughter wants to be a princess what does that hurt! It is all "a power trip" there. We "are" a part of Logan Co School system aren't we.. cause some staff there sure doesn't act like it.
I know the atmosphere is different there. Much more parent involvement.. and I am not stupid I know that makes a difference.. that school is just "ran different".. and anyone who has been there for a long time.. and students that have already moved on to middle school.. know what I mean. and I know for a fact kids with learning disablilites and other things "wrong" are shipped out of that school. I could give you names but I wouldn't do that. You would be surprised.. if you have been there for 4 years.. you would know some of them. I am not on here to fight.. and didn't mean to "call you out".. just saw your post and had to say something. If we got some different staff there.. it would be different I tell ya.. I just want kids to have an equal opp in this county. If you got slightly something wrong w/ your kid and in district.. then you are shipped outta there. I know that there are parents all over the county just as involved as us at Justice, just don't get the thumbs up because they are at a different school.
By the way.. I am a parent there.. not by choice.. you can't transfer anymore!
I respect you for being an involved parent, I do. My whole point is .. what do they do for us? Not for an agrument from you... just a back up .. wondering what do they do for our kids there?(I know they get an education.. but this is Grade School "the fun years". Sorry if I sounded bitchy b4.. I just want OUTTA THERE!

i think the school system is in a mess. Everywhere in the county morale is at a all time low. You can't get answers to anything. Omar Grade has been trying to get some answers about health issues at their school all summer. Jobs are posted then pulled because the right people did not apply. Other jobs are created for just certain people who meet the criteria. Why not post jobs statewide if you don't think we have qualified people?

Some kids are blessed with the ability to retain knowledge and others isn't. As far as school location and quality of teachers, yes it may help a little. However, back in the day parents thought the route to go was to send their children to Justice then to Central and then to the high school. These kids developed an attitude and felt as though they was "somebody." If you would like to consult with the people that went through this "better than you" school hopping system, you can catch around 80% of them at the welfare office, wal-mart, or even on the hill at Holden(Jail.) There is good and bad that comes from every school, but it usually falls back to the genetic composition of the child. The apple doesn't fall to far from the tree.

In my opinion Logan grade has excellent staff and is focused on the things that matter. I have had experience with other schools in the county and have conme to learn that they are more concerned with money and image then what our children are learning. Logan Grade has fun activities for our kids but it never gets in the way of learning unlike some schools that have parties every week and are more worried about which kids parent can bring in more money to the school.

My children must have attended a different school. Doing well on the WESTEST was the main and only priority in grades 3-4. I heard that the principal nearly stroked out last year when the test scores weren't up to par.

My child is going in to the 4th grade and my experience with the principal and the entire Logan Grade staff has been nothing but positive. Any time I have had a concern or problem it was taken seriously and dealt with. I have not had the same positive experience with the other school he attended and I feel great about my other children attending Logan Grade in the future. But again I did say in the first comment this is all "In My Opinion".

I hear things are a mess all over the county. No room for kids in some elementary schools. Possible ground contamination of the playground at Omar Grade.Job posted, people interviewed and no one hired for them. It seems like on autopilot as far as running the schools. What has happened?

They are not "transferred" they are sent. Why are there no Special Education Classes there? hmmm...

Well that child probably wouldnt be underachieving if the parents would work with them. That is why Justice is such a good school, not because of the teachers or principal, its because of the parents. They care about the future of their children.I would know, I am one of those parents.

I think all the "Justice Hype" is so stupid. You have good parents in every school.. People at Justice just think they are the better school.. in fact.. the other grade schools are just as good. It is the education you get that matters.. and Logan Grade, Holden and all the others is just as good in that! It is a small school.. that is the only thing "good" Justice has going for it. There is 1 teacher there that is above average.. but that is it!
What fun things do they do for the kids there?.. You tell me that 1 waybackwhen.. dances? parties? trips?.. only JUMP Rope for Heart.. that is it! and where does all that Money go that is raised there? huh.. huh.. huh... we all know where!
You know what you are talking about!

seems to me that they may need to reopen the old grade schools instead of wanting to close them and consolidate........they are wanting to save money closing schools and cram them all into other schools.....maybe consolidation is not the thing to do.........

I totally agree with this. They may be saving a dollar by consolidating and cramming our kids into over-filled classrooms but it is at the expense of their education. The kids are not getting the one-on-one attention like they need.

they used to have good teaachers there, when the priority was learning- now all it is- is test scores. if your child is smart or you have money or clout, they will treat you like royalty; anything else and the teachers' dog is treated better. i complained about it to the principal and at the board's office; but they told me i was the only one who had a problem there. several of you need to speak out at a board meeting, that is the only way you will get something done. forget it at the school level!!!!!!!!

Sounds like stay at home mom and omg are just a little outa there league...Or maybe its just that there league..(hiding around on the net to spead lies).
Seems rather odd that just a couple parents arent happy with the teaching of children..But in the meen time there kids finished grade school and there now STILL in logan county schools.
Looks like your not happy with the teachers so just move your kids to another school and quit hiding around on the internet running off at the mouth.
Now to the real point of all of it..? Or is there 1?
It seems really strange that a parent who just lays around at home could'nt come to the Parent teacher meetings and make your opinion heard with out the hiding.
All In All your kid still is in logan schools so it wasnt as you posted on here, So lay back in your chair and enjoy the attn youve drawn out to your self and think ...Did i really need to Get on here and hide to state my opinion?
Thanks for the laughs at your bogus post on here and just so you know your not offending anyone,We all kinda like that your really showing to be the person all of us already guessed you were but were sure of it now.
