Just wondering if you can get a learner's permit if you drop out of school. I was told that if you drop out you cannot get a permit to drive until you either re-enroll in school, turn 18 or get a GED. Anyone know for sure.

Look I am not a kid, I am merely asking because I know someone who claims to have a learners but I knew I had read that you cannot get one if you are a dropout unless you are 18 or have a GED. Shows what you know. Gee you people have to bash every post just to show your ignorance. Get a life!

If u obtain ur permit while u are in school, then decide to quit they can revoke your permit until u re-enroll in school, obtain a GED or turn 18. While in school, u have to keep ur nose clean and keep a grade point average to keep that permit and or license. And yes in certain cases they wont let you obtain either one until you are age 21.

If you can't graduate from high school or qualify for a G.E.D. you should be banned from EVER having the privilege of driving a vehicle.

They won't let you just quit school anymore, if you stop going to school you are put in the court system then you have to go to the GED classes i think it's 3 days a week until you take your GED test and pass it. I know this because I have a family member that is getting ready to turn 21 and still can't get a permit until the GED test is taken and passed, and is on the verge of going to jail for not going to the class for the required amount of days, cause you do have to appear on front of your probation officer every so often too and pass drug tests and from what I understand you stay in that court system and cannot get a license until you get your GED, I could be wrong on the license, if I am wrong then you can't get one at least until 21. But you do have to get the GED and even at 20 yrs old if you don't got to the required classes you go to jail.

There are so many spelling mistakes and lack of punctuation in your post that it is hard to make sense of it. I would consider furthering my education if I was you. I don't think the online classes were of much use to you except in getting your license.

You're *. Don't correct someone if you don't know how to use the right punctuation yourself.

Exactly! That's why I dropped out, and you know what- I feel happier. I used to have really bad panic attacks. But now I don't. Getting a GED is just better for some people.
