Why did Mrs. Zigmond wait until around 8:30 to call off school, we got the phone call a few hours earlier saying we would h ave a two hour delay. Does this woman not even watcH the new reports about the weather? Many of us that have to be to work by 9 have a hard time deciding what to do with our children. She is highly inconsiderate to say the least! She should have made the decision to call off school last night when all the reports were saying what kind of weather we were getting. This is just another example how inept this gym teacher is. Why the board that we elect puts up with her is beyond me. Next election we parents need to run candidates that actually put the student first for once. We do not need anymore Wilmas ass kissers in office!

This was so typical of her waiting until the last minute to call off school, should we have been surprised? I planned on keeping my 2 sons home anyway but as you said this was inconsiderate of her to do. If this county doesn't change I am thinking of moving just so my sons will have a better school system to be under. Like you said our BOE does what she wants. How sad that these grown men and women can not make up their own minds and do what is best for our children. Just a pitiful situation over all.

Quit whining. Grow a set of balls and make your own judgement call. If you think road conditions are too dangerous, keep your kids and yourself at home. It's that simple.

Complain is all most you so called parents do. I made the decision last night to keep mine two home from school, and I got the call/text this morning! No matter what in these weather conditions make your own decision if they havent called it off! But anyway most of you wouldn't be happy if they called it off at 6pm then you all would say its too early! Never happy

Sure haven't heard if there is a delay. Watch wvowradio.com , they are good to put it on their site quickly. I think a delay would be good so the icy slush would have time to be scrapped.

I agree with you 100%. Parents should take a little responsibility when the safety of their children are concerned. I know you can't send your kids to school, when in Mrs. Zigmonds opinion the roads are too dangerous for the busses to make their rounds. Why is her opinion any better than a parent's when it it comes to the safety of YOUR children. Does she have any more training than the parents when it comes to the dangers of a slick road? Parents, if you think the roads are unsafe for your children to be on, Keep them home, learn to make a decision.

If you think the roads are too dangerous, but school is still in session and you send your kids to school and something happens to the bus, are you not going to feel bad about yourself, because someone with no more knowledge, on the subject, than you has allowed the buses to run.

2 hour delay. I don't care what time the call is. Glad we get one. But as a parent I make my own call we have been without electric for over 12 hours. It's our decision to send them or not.

It's a FACT she's been too busy getting a raise for herself, wasting funds on trying to build a new school instead of fixing the current ones (if these buildings can be used for other things by the BOE, why not fix them and keep them open as SCHOOLS like they were built to be?), getting new books and other necessary supplies that our kids and teachers need for a good education for our kids (sure, she throws them a bone every so often but could do so much more), or getting teachers who are there for more than a payday and summers off with pay (don't get me wrong there are good teachers but the ones who aren't need another career, and one way is random blood & urine (alternating between blood & urine testing) drug testing for all of the school employees can actually help with that). She's closing these schools to overcrowd the ones left open to get the funds to build the new one, while the overcrowded schools are left understaffed which only hurts the kids, which is exactly what is going to happen at the new school if its built, job loss for alot of teachers, rediculously longer bus rides for the kids, not enough individual attention for struggling students due to overcrowded classrooms and overwhelmed teachers. The schools she's closing has families, with school age children, that have contracts with the BOE to live on the properties to watch over the schools after hours, that she's decided to evict during this awful economy. Way to look out for our children's best interest there LCBOE. The state really should step in and investigate. Maybe then they'll get her out of there. In my OPINION, Moss Burgess, had he not retired, would've been a great replacement. He was one of the good guys that wasn't afraid of her, stood up to her, and didn't kiss up to her like the rest of them.

I agree with you..... All school employees including cust, cooks full time and subs., teachers and aids. Not just bus drivers cause all employees are working with the kids or around them. You have employees high as a kite at work and ones that smell of alcohol as though they've been on a binge. If she was truly concerned she would not turn her back to this matter. But the way everyone is seeing it, it's all about her.

You people just like the rest of us vote for the BOE members. Some of you didn't vote for Moss so stop complaining and look in the mirror.
