Does logan regional hospital not have a policy against its nurses working while infected with a transmitable disease? Ie. Hepititas, hiv, and other such ones

If you have specific knowledge of this, spit it out. Just don't put out a rumor in the form of a question.

I think they are required to have a policy like this because of the regulations.

Nurses can't refuse to treat a patient with a communicable disease, so how is it any different if they have one?
As long as you aren't swapping fluids with them it doesn't matter.
Universal precautions aren't just to protect them from you but also you from them.
Nurses and EMS workers have to put up with people spitting on them, trying to scratch and bite them and still do their jobs, regardless of what the person they are dealing with have.
There are some exceptions such as if the person is on droplet or airborne precations and there is a issue such and say for instance you have an active TB patient and maybe a pregnant nurse, they would typically move the pregnant staff member off that case.
But a blood borne pathogen patient deserves the same care and consideration as anyone else. I know a nurse at St.Mary's worked in the ER for 15 years, had a patient attack the Dr that was examining her, the Nurse and a Aide had to pull the Lady off the Dr and she got Bit, hard. Well, the lady had HIV and Hep. I think it was Hep C I can't remember.Luckily she didn't catch anything, but she could have/ The bottom line is she new the womans history and did her job anyway.

Hell LEASA is run by a statutory rapist.
When Roger was a teacher one of his students got pregnant and it all got swept under the rug.

A child molester who plead to a lesser crime in another state works at LEASA and for Logan county schools. Sad what they allow around our children and families.
