I got a new track phone that had 120 minutes, and I keep getting calls from a 866# that I don't answer. I noticed that I only had 10 minutes left the other day so I checked to see how many minutes I had actually used, I have only used 20 minutes of that time. So I told a friend about it and she told me that it is a scam! They call your phone and even if you don't answer it will take your minutes away! Has this happened to any of you? If so do you know how to stop it? Please tell btw what's wrong with topix, I had to post this twice?

me and my husband has go phones and there is a number that keeps coming up on his too.. so we had the number changed and it still comes up and takes up his minutes,, i asked them if they could block the number and they said no because you can't do that on go phones so i would say you can't on track phones either,, but you could try.. hpe you get it worked out if you do can you please let me know?

I tried that, my phone gives the option to add to reject list and I did but the calls keep coming from the same #,well actually two numbers this makes me think that the track phone company is in on the scam! Here are the numbers 866-478-9812 866-632-6475 Are they the same?

Both of those numbers are for Direct TV according to google, not Trac Phone. I've been using a tracfone for about 3 years and have never had a problem with them. The previous owner of that number may owe a bill there. Call tracfone and see if they will help you.

THANK YOU Mark! I'll call and try to find out. But if a previous owner owes a bill it doesn't make sense that I have to pay for it. TracFone is pre pay only I thought?

I used TracFone service for over 7 years. I was never charged when I was called and I did not answer the phone.
This sounds very odd; but please let us know what TracFone tells you.
Like many companies today, TracFone is "outsourced" so you may need to give yourself plenty of time for this call due to any language barriers and hold time.
If you can, use a land line (home phone) for the call to TracFone.

I sold cell phones for a year at Walmart. Tracfone was pretty simple and I used it. I upgraded to Net10 and that was really great until one day -- zero response. I had to call the new owner of Net10 - Tracfone who told me it had died. I went to a Radio Shack and bought another Tracfone they were promoting. It was supposed to come with 60 minutes and when they activated the phone, I had about 25 minutes left. Then I bought a card for another 60 minutes and they added that for me and that also resulted in less minutes. I got a series of calls which had nothing to do with me and that took up all but my last 15 minutes. I bought another card yesterday, gently removed the code on the back as I have done for a long time with Net10 and no problem with the number but the PIN number was unreadable. I went to Tracfone site for help on Internet and there is none. The promo phone I bought has no Serial Number location even after I followed the instructions. Without that, no help. There is also a requirement to use the Pin to put in the number from the card. DO NOT BUY A TRACFONE CARD AT A STORE AND IF YOU BUY THE CHEAP ONE, YOU PROBABLY WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO ADD TIME. I AM DONE WITH THIS COMPANY AND WILL MAKE SURE I DO NOT BUY ANOTHER PHONE FROM RADIO SHACK.

I have had a trac phone for years and have never had a problem with it. I generally buy minutes on the Internet, and buy a year's worth of service at a time.

Some stores will print your minutes code on your reciept I know dollar general does you don't need a card to buy minutes

I recently got a phone at AT&T. 2 bill collectors kept calling my number many times, asking for someone, who evidently had previously had this number. I explaiined many times that I did not know this person and I and just acquired this number. The calls kept on. I had to eventually change my number.

I got my GO phone in 2008 and up until midway in 2012 did I have any trouble. I get text and calls also that I don't answer. After my time runs out I will no longer have a cell phone.

none of them is worth paying for u get outside 80 percent of the time and no signal can you believe this shyt, it's awful too have this type of service no signal lol (when you gotta nut you gotta nut )
