I miss the old Logan. The town had no empty store fronts. Everyone in school would love to drive or cruise around the town especially on Friday nights. Then many of us would meet up at the island abd just talk and hang out together. Another one of my very favorite things was to go to Penny's Drive Inn and get my hot dogs and cherry smash. i loved Logan way more then than I do now. The music was better, the people were better, everyone;s attitude was better.

I don't live in Logan but I used to go there with my Mom when I was little. It was by far a better place back in the day. It is nasty now and no one seems to care about their town now. Druggies and trash on every corner. I would love to go back in time and live in that time. Better than today's.

I lived in Logan when I was just a kid. I remember going to Penny's when we would come home from the Country Club. I loved having a chili dog and a Dr. Pepper. I sure wish it were still there.

That is stratton street.. I lived right there all my grade school years from 1969 to 1974. My grandma used to take me some mornings to have tea and toast before I went to school at Nicks resturant . I lived at the Magnolia Apartments. I was an only child with my mom and she and my grandma always got their hair done at Iva's Beauty Salon every Friday after work. My mom used to send me to City Bakery to get a loaf of French bread as she made spaghetti. And dont forget Logan Theater and Capital Theater downtown and gosh.. Dont forget the Dime store. Ice cream at Aracoma Drug and Dont forget Coney Island... And Watsons and Super S Discount and THE Coffee Shoppe.. Gosh I can go on and on I suppose. I belonged to a bowling league in grade school and we had to play either on Fridays after school or on Saturday mornings at Plaza Lanes.. I miss it.. I have not been there since 1984. Wow.

I miss those days. I worked at the Logan Theater in the early 70's. I was still in school at the time. I had so much fun on Friday before going to work and on Saturday.

wal mart is not the reason for the downtown's decline. it was happening long before they came along.

i love these old pictures. coming to town in the 70's was great. you could spend all day going from store to store and could get everything you needed. its sad that its not that way today.
so excited

Logan in the late 60's and 70's was great. We would sit on the curb at Morrison"s or Penny's and just talk and goof off till closing. It's sad that this generation missed all of that.Man those really were the good old days.

cars parked bumper to bumper most of the streets were like this.a simpler time when people cared for each other and life was great.
