Exactly... SOUL... Apparently Kathy Sibley is such a good teacher that she can't understand the difference between basic homophones when she is teaching her students. I assume you're a prior student... ;) I don't teach at St. Paul, but I know Fr. Charlie and he 'is' a man of character. Kathy Sibley is a whiny baby as the post above suggested. Has anyone ever listened to the woman talk? She is so full of herself it is a painful experience!
I will pray for you!

Much is made about the fact that Mrs. Sibley didn't name names or make a direct reference to the incident in her presentation. SHE DIDN'T HAVE TO. Everyone present knew the name of the teacher, the incident, the allegations and how it was handled because Fr. Charlie addressed all of this in a letter sent to the parent of every child present months prior. The fact is, if Mrs. Sibley was looking to honor "honesty," she should have stated outright what she intimated.
I know Mrs. Sibley is an EXCELLENT teacher. The support she garners is evidence of this. However, I also know Mrs. Sibley is strongly opinionated and dismissive of those she doesn’t agree with.
The incident described above was not Mrs. Sibley’s to deal with or comment on. The people responsible for dealing with this incident did so. Additionally, it doesn’t matter if anyone agrees with how this situation was handled. People in corporate and other work environments understand this. They understand there is a chain of authority whereby decisions are made outside the democratic process.
Unfortunately, this article has created a Good Guy / Bad Guy scenario. It is truly unfortunate that so many will dismiss the wonderfully charitable works this man has done over a glimpse at his humanity. My only wonder is if those who are such detractors of this man's vocation hold themselves to the same standards they currently hold this priest.
You have hit the nail on the head!

That is the point, unless you have had real dealings with the man, you would not know the Real Fr. Klinger. Discretion was the goal, until Fr Klinger sent out the letter to the rest of his clan and it went from there. That is when Support Kathy Sibley came into play. ODE, McGraw Hill and many others are being contacted with all information! There is not black and white, but I think that most will see that Mrs. Sibley is the sacrificial lamb for those that are in fear of Fr. Klinger and the Noriss team.
Please choose your analogies more carefully. Mrs. Sibley can not be compared to the “Sacrificial Lamb.” The Sacrificial Lamb was Sinless. He was tortured and crucified for the sins of humanity; the sins of Fr. Charlie and Mrs. Sibley alike (and thankfully for me). In contrast, Mrs. Sibley received a rude letter. Consequently, she had the vocal support of several hundred people, an internet support page devoted to herself, and a favorable article in the Columbus Dispatch.

I would spot Fr. Charlie 1.3 million in a heartbeat to build the new church. I can't wait to worship in our new church. And, as a FYI, the DeSales principal's wife is a math teacher at the high school.
You are correct. However, what you fail to mention is, they both taught at DeSales long before he became principal.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Every point you made is absolutely correct and right on mark. I am proud of Father and hope that Mrs. Sibley and her gang find what ever it is they are looking for ELSEWHERE. She abused those girls by using them to fulfill her own selfish and well documented needs and is now playing the martyr. I've seen her in action and never felt much respect for her. She has lived up to my expectations with her actions. Father will not be manipulated, Mrs. Sibley, and neither will the school. Good luck to you at your new church.

This is what the Protestant Revolution has been about for the past 500 years or so, the rejection of Catholic authority, and it's one of the things which founded this country and made it great. The Catholic religion is inferior, indeed un-American, as it relies on authoritarianism instead of enligtenment and the true teachings of Jesus. At root, the Catholic church has corrupted Jesus in the name of a money-making enterprise.

At the end of the day it is the families, Priest, teachers (present and former) and Principal who have to live with their intentions, actions and words. There are many things that we will not know, there are many puzzle pieces missing. Why don't we focus on something that we can do like pray for the 3 Westerville families, who within the last 2 weeks, have lost 2 children and a young mother with 4 children, and for our Military who are defending our country.

Kathy Sibley is a whiny baby that needs to get over the fact that she doesn't like the new administration. Get a life lady. A supposed award in memory of your deceased husband where you use children to your means is simply wrong. The supportkathysibley website should be checked by all of the graduating parents because it has posted video of their students. Sue the person who made the website for posting pictures of your children without consent. This public video only exposes these children to harm. This video also is publicly recording individuals without consent with sound. This violates surveillance laws and should be reported to the police or prosecutors office. And Kathy Sibley; get a life, get laid, get an enema but most of all, get over it now. Oh and btw, this was reported to the news by someone associated with Kathy Sibley. Just because she didn't specifically call the news doesn't mean she wasn't involved with individuals that helped this become a huge story to stroke her fat ego.
I could not have said it better. I too support what you have proposed. It is time for Sibley to get over it. She needs to pack up her circus tent and take her sideshow somewhere else.

Mrs. Sibley was here before this evil came to town and she will be here after it leaves. Funny how you have yet to discuss the real issues of the matter. Fr Klinger have the sole power to hire, then hiring the principals husband, then covering up for the principals husband, then showing true character in sending letter. The circus came to town 7 years ago and is building a big circus tent. When the ring master completes his project, hopefully he will leave to bother a different parish!

We also hope that the rest of the carnies will leave with him!

Rule #1: Church-affiliated schools should ALWAYS be governed by an independently elected board, entirely separate from and not beholden to the church's leadership.

This entire story/situation saddens me. Does no one care that every story has two sides anymore? Everyone is so quick to judge based on "team sibley's" well publicized propaganda. Father Charlie hasn't defended himself because he rightfully believes this to be a private matter between himself and Kathy Sibley. I just don't understand how Mrs. Sibley claims to be so concerned about St. Paul's when her actions have done nothing but drive a wedge of negativity into what should be a positive school environment. For some reason there is always a group of "catholic bashers" out there waiting to pounce on any negative light shed on the church. Congratulations Team Sibley, you just handed them the equivalent of gold with the dirt you have not stopped spreading!

Facts: Fr Klinger came to this parish to force us into building a bigger church so the diocese can continue to sit on their money rather than building another parish around Lewis Center. Does anyone really think that adding 500 seats will solve the issue that we have 14000 people or over 4500 families that belong to this Parish?

Facts: Fr Klinger single handed hired Dr. Norris who had very little experience as a principal. Then allows her to recommend her husband to apply for the math position (he has not been in a class room as a teacher for 27 years)and Fr Klinger then hires him over extremely qualified people.

Facts: Mr. Norris hands out A's like they were candy and is caught messing with the standardized test (this is per Fr Klinger "investigation"). Mr. Norris has 30+ years in education and educational administration.

Facts: 3 8th grader girls are intimidated by Dr. Norris and hold there ground with what happened in the class on test day. Parents seek meetings with Fr Klinger with his usual "I will pray for you" BS.

More students come forward and Fr Klinger does his own independent review (consisted of 5 short questions) and finds that Mr. Norris did not properly administer the test, but did not tell the kids to cheat.

Fact: Fr Klinger has taken the funds from the St Paul Silent Auctions and has "shuffled" them into the "general fund" otherwise known as the building fund.

Fact: Not one piece of documentation has been provided by the Mrs. Sibley bashers to show any personal gain or abuse.

Fact: www.supportkathysibley.com has all the documentation and proof of why we support Mrs. Sibley.

Fact: Mrs. Sibley has never had ANY bad dealings with St Paul or St Paul Schools in her 30+ years as a parishioner or 18 years as a teacher before Fr Klinger and the Norris' came to town.

These are the facts, not opinions.

If fr. Klinger wanted it to remain private, then he should have met with all the parents and teacher that have had concerns over the last 2 years about what is going on at that school. If fr. Klinger wanted to keep this private, he would have invited Mrs. Sibley to meet with him and discuss any issues rather then send her his nasty and unchristian letter, then CC it to others who then forward it to others.

If Fr Klinger wanted to keep this private, he would have done the ethical and moral thing with Mr. Norris and not hired him. It's funny how it's Team Sibley fault, when in fact only Fr Klinger had the power to make all the errors! If there is not dirt, then there is no story. Keep to the facts! Fr Klinger and only Fr Klinger could have resolved this privately starting with his poor choices starting with hiring a math teach who is related to the principal and has not been in a class room for over 27 years!

Still, your new cathedral is really impressive. And in church-speak, belonging to a parish and participating in a parish are two very different things.

Yes, God wanted an impressive church. I agree with you, most people belong to a church, Mrs. Sibley and many supporters are well known to have participated for over 30 + years.

I forgot about the part in the bible that states "the only way into heaven is to build me a really impressive church!"

Sure, churches aren't about buildings and all, but that 1960s design has never been....well...let's just say the new building is a beauty. Once you move past the church/school dispute, you'll be set. If only the school leadership had been independent of the church leadership, Fr. K would not have been directly involved in the matter, and the fallout to the parish would have been mitigated to a large extent.

Hopefully those who bother to read these comments will also realize that those comments which include links to Mrs. Sibley's website are also biased remarks. Obviously Mrs. Sibley has a list of issues with the administration, and pouncing on the cheating situation was a great to air all those grievances. My problem is not that she doesn't agree with some of the decisions by the current administration (although I do wonder why she cares so much when she is not a current school parent or teacher). My problem is the manner in which she and her loyal followers have conducted themselves in making this such a public matter. Sometimes people are resistant to change and bringing in a new administrator after a long period with the old regime can be difficult for those who thought things were good as they were. Mrs. Sibley taught there for a long time under the prior leadership. I think it is very apparent that she is using this "scandal" to oust the new principal. I can't blame Father Charlie for being so aggravated. I just hope TeamSibley can figure out when enough is enough and put this campaign to rest so Dr. Norris and Fr. Charlie can focus on what is most important right now - creating a positive, Christian environment for my child to learn in when school starts in 3 days.
