OPINION: Fishers are victims; stop blaming them

Absolutely silly article. To say that the fishers are not part of the problem is plain stupid. Regulation is the ONLY reason that fish species and numbers have increase. To even suggest that those fishers who rely on their livelihood to preserve fishing on Long Island know how to preserve our environment is nuts. It is about money. Yes part of the problem is pollution, runoff, garbage but the main problem is overfishing. Simple.

if the fish is deemed unhealthy from pcb's, we can't eat it. long island lobster's die of shell disease 1 week after spraying for west nile. the public needs to read between the lines instead of listening to lies about
our fish stocks. pollution, oil & gas drilling is poisoning our food supply.
