They love to get your credit card number. Read the "Year-Round Service Program" very carefully. I signed up for an initial service fee of $15. I was assured there was no further obligation, but that I could continue wit the 12 month program if I wished. Wanted to give them a check. Nope. Cash? Nope. They demanded an electronic payment. I knew better, but the price was so good ($55 every two months) and they would put out snail bait, that I gave go ahead for first service. Service was ok and technician was ok, but I just felt a loyalty to my old pest control guy.
So, I called to cancel. Some guy named Steve called me and said I had two options. I could keep the agreement in place OR I could repay the discount they originally gave me!? "What?" I said. Yep, seems the initial service is normally $250 but it was discounted to $15. Therefore I was responsible for the entire $250. I immediately checked my credit card account and saw that he had charged my credit card $235 while we were talking.
So, go with them if you must, but watch your credit card very closely.

I originally decided to try them out because of a special offer they were having even though I was completely happy w my pest control providers, but the offer sounded too good to pass up. I quickly realized this place was awful. We signed a one year contract for a $100 initial fee and $90 every 3months but the service was awful. I have spent the last 6months trying to cancel the service after the year contract expired but they continue to show up while I am at work and bill my credit card for the service.
From the initial spray I began to see an issue because I had them come back 3 times before my first 3 month service. The pest problem was never taken care of (spiders and ants) and they didn't seem to care. Don't get me wrong, neither the receptionist nor technician where ever rude but they were simply not getting the job done.
Before our one year contract expired I came home to find a note saying they came in to do the service while I was out but I had them come right back because they had missed a wasps nest on the side of my house. Again they decided to come while I was at work and I came home to find the nest was still there. I was just about to call them to ask them what the point of the visit was when my 3 year old came running in because she had been stung by one of the wasps when she accidentally stepped on it. Since this day I have been trying to get rid of them but they don't seem to understand the word "Cancelled". I have not been comfortable my kids playing outside since the day I signed that contract.
My advise to anyone who is lured in by this "special offer", pay the extra $15-$50 to get the job done right the first time....though I can't say the job was ever done.

I have been very happy with this company every since I have signed up with them. I was having a lot issues with spiders in my home. Quite terrifying! The woman I spoke to on the phone was very gracious and was able to schedule an appointment for me to have them come in and give my home a complete pest control treatment.
The staff was professional, and were very consistent in solving my scary pest issue!
If you don't know how a contract works, ask them! They are very honest and will explain everything for you. So happy I found them, major plus is that every time you call you don't have to worry about getting a machine, you always get a real education kind professional on the other end!

Guess I should mention Florida is my vacation home, but my first home is based in Lodi where I spend six months there and six months here in Florida with my elderly mother.

Fantastic service! I normally don't take the time to post reviews but I was so impressed with the service and the price that I wanted to give a shout out to Proguard!
I have used 2 other pest companies but decided to switch because they offered such a great price. I was expecting to get similar service but they were and are better than the other companies I used. No more ants and spiders. They pre-notify me before every service and they even take care of the snails!
I read some of the other posts and I don't get the negative. They do expect you to try them out for 12 months but they give you a huge discount to try it. Great company!

I sign up but after the first visit I realized it was a bad decision they did not do as the sales person said they were going to. They came back for the next treatment a month later and I did not answer the door for them. They stood there for a few minutes and left the I get a bill for a treatment which was not done. I would not recommend this company to any one they are nothing but a scam company.
