Why do they still call her a mother? She killed her child so therefore she shouldn't be called that.
I hope part of the 'plea' is to have her tubes tied. Or perhaps a total hysterectomy, that might be better.

And she is NOT a mother, she's a murderer. And they better tie her tubes before she gets out. She'll only be 30 years old. People are really messed up! This whole world is going to he11 in a handbasket!

I was diagnosed bipolar a few years back, and am giving birth in 1 month. This case made me sick from the beginning. And now that I am a mother soon to deliver, I am a million times more mortified!! How dare ANYONE make an excuse for her behavior? If anything, being pregnant alone has made life a million times more happy and enjoyable, and I LOOK FORWARD to hearing his little cries for food, or for me,or just to cry!!

i hope somebody kills her in prison. she doest deserve to be alive. being mental is no excuse and the grandmother who left her a lone with her should serve time too. its just horrible what happened to that little boy.

I vaguely remember this case from the get go, and if I remember correctly they had tried treating her with meds and so forthe and if I also remember correctly she checked herself out of rehab then refused to go back....ummmm...doesn't sound like someone begging for help to me. I also remember that the courts knew enough to take this child away from her and put this INNOCENT child with the grandmother (who should also be charged with endagering the welfare of a child)and you know what there is medication for bipolar disorder and the way doctors just hand these prescriptions out I hardly believe that she was diagnosed and they would not treat it. I have two children and my husband is bi-polar (and taking his meds), and that is NO reason to put your hands over your childs mouth and nose while he kicked her and struggled for every last breath as his "mother" took his life. Every murderer is mentally ill as no sane person would commit murder. But it is not an excuse she knew exactely what she did. I have seen longer sentencing for pot. How sick! This psycho deserves every @ss beating she gets. As and far as you go, for you to stick up for this piece of trash you must be related...so condolences to he family as you have now lost 2 people.

Grandmother gave her all and so did her husband (not Shayna's father) I am sick of know nothings making stupid accusations if their was a reason to charge anyone else with a crime or something like that IT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED. If you really care find out read the old threads or ask someone who knows the truth!

I agree she needs a lot more than 10 years. There are so many deserving couples out there that would have given that child a wonderful home and life. This just makes me sick that she didn't care to us the help she was given and only thought of herself.

Is anyone really surprised she only got 10 years? Heck ya she deserves alot more time than that, she should've been suffocated. Our world is so screwed up. This nasty piece of trash kills her innocent baby & pretty much walks away from it. She'll be out of jail by 30- if not younger. That's disgusting. I hope she gets what she deserves in jail & some more when she gets out. She makes me sick.

I guarantee that once other inmates find out what she's in for, life will not be fun for her. A lot of people in jail would give anything to be with their kids; once they find out she killed hers, it's not going to be a nice stay.
