The new fire station was constructed by the Piazzas. It just so happens that the Piazzas are related to Rob Chronholm. Richard , Rob Chronholm's father, is a brother to Barbara MCCarthy. She is married to John McCarthy and he is a brother to Noreen Piazza from where the Piazzas come from. More interesting stuff!

There is too musch "relativity" and "cronyism" in the various township taxing bodies. Is Mr. Waxweiler or any of the Township government related to the Fire Board? Too many people getting well in Lockport at the taxpayer expense! Sounds like "Crook" county, is now leaking into to "Willful" county. I thought "incest" was a sin or at least against the law. It must not be when it comes to the Lockport Fire board. I bet the stories around the Thankgiviing/Christmas family dinners are most interesting! When is the next fire board election?

WAXWEILER is in the garage by Piazza Masonry, friends for sure. They are all big time friends. You have the entire fire bd. are all friends, Pelc, D. Cronholm, and Martis.

How about a Dave Savini investigation? He can have a two-for, three-for, or he may get up to "Tigers" numbers in his investigation. Maybe a call to channel 2 would be a good idea, Savini knows where the township garage is located and Waxweiler can direct him over to the new firehouse.

This is a great idea. I would like the contracts uncovered for the projects the Lockport Fire Dept. gave out since this present Chief has been onboard. I esp. would like to know if it is sealed bids. I reread the story of this fire chief and he is still onboard collecting a salary. Interesting how laws apply to some and to some they do not. By the way, what happened to the fire chief before him? Come on, Lockport taxpayers, get involved in your government and see just what is happening. The Herald News brought this out--now let us find out the particulars. We are the taxpayers who pay these salaries, and what is his salary and what is his pension? How come this information is not given to the taxpayer? Or we going to have another ----INTERNAL INVESTIGATION--by the fire board with the Chief's dad on it and two good friends. Here we go again, just like the Waxy thing.

Go to the Herald News and read the comments. They are against what is being done. The majority of comments are not favorable in this situation.

You seem to know a lot. Or you think you know a lot. Must be a real tough guy, huh? I have an idea. Stop in at Piazza Masonry some day and tell those guys to their face what you think. I bet that don't happen, though. That's because you're a coward, f***** pus**!

hey guys, another relative, why dont you write that on the herald news site, big guy. potty mouths abound on this site! If you cant take the heat (truth) get out of the kitchen. I didnt write the story the Herald News wrote it and there are numerous comments--all verbal and no vulgarity on the Herald News site.

The problem is that it is very hard to counter the "truth" with thuggery. Ignorance and thuggery go hand in hand. When you lie about something all you can do is attack the messenger. If it were not the truth, a substantive answer would put the whole story to rest.

Wow! It's like Lockport isn't even trying to hide things anymore!

"Screw it! That's just a state law! We're the guys in Lockport. We can get around that. Now, how much did you say was in the envelope?"

Be fun to watch if Lisa Madigan took an interest in this town and the goings on here.

Never happen, though. This town is still too small time.

Still, one can hope, right?

The way Lockport (and probably the rest of the country) operates reminds me of a quote from Joseph Stalin. I don't remember it exactly, so I'll have to paraphrase:

"The people who vote decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything."

c'est la vie

I bet Rob Chronholm took a sigh of relief that he is off the front page for awhile. . But we wont forget the issue of double dipping as the story clearly states in the herald news.

Don't forget the Cronholm is on the Lockport Township Park District Board as well. Oh yeah, his Dad was a Lockport Fire Trustee when he was hired on as Chief.

It all falls in place when they are pre planned decidions for relatives made by relatives or friends. It couldn't be easier for some, could it? drain, drain, and more draining of the taxpayer--it just never stops.

During this time of year we all should be very greatful for our blessings. I consider our community of Lockport a true blessing in my life. Lockport is far from perfect, but aren't we all. We must all strive constantly to become better.
Our community is blessed with many fine individuals. Both Robert and his father Richard are among that group. They are members of one of the many quality families our community should be very proud of. Just as many of us strive to do,
these fine gentleman HAVE dedicated their lives to making Lockport a fine place to live and raise a family.
It should not be looked at as a fault when a person works hard and represents their home town with integrity. Lockport can become even a greater place to live if the other departments had leaders such as the fire and police have.
Our fire department is second to none. Just ask anyone who has ever needed their services. This does not happen without quality leadership. Someone must be the leader. The responsibility of leading the Lockport Fire department must be a very demanding position. I for one am greatful that Lockport has a dedicated citizen shouldering that responsibility.
Merry Christmas to you all.
