Again Lockport comes in short because if you read the story in the Herald News Romeoville IS GIVING SIXTY PERCENT INCENTIVES TO SAMS CLUB TO GET THEM TO COME TO THEIR COMMUNITY. This city council would not do that. ALL THE BENEFITS THAT ROMEOVILLE GET IS WELL LAID OUT AND THEY HAVE WISE AND QUALIFIED PEOPLE GOVERNING THEIR COMMUNITY WHERE WE DO NOT NOW!!!! The community of Romeoville has the common sense to let you know that the community will be the winner in all of this and they give INCENTIVES. This community of Lockport did that when we had other Mayors and other City Councils but NO THEY DO NOT DO SO NOW. IT IS WELL KNOWN THAT TOM K AND KELLY T SAID NO TO INCENTIVES SO THEREFORE NO DEVELOPMENT WILL EVER COME HERE WITH THEM SERVING US. DID I SAY SERVING, I MEANT SOMETHING ELSE. Do you really want four more years of this type of non leadership? Get smart people, elect a new Mayor and a new majority and we will get things done with some qualified staff and qualified city council members. If you want development, fire the members that would vote against development and vote against Lockport.

We didn't need a Sam's Club in Lockport. Offering a 60% incentive is against everything that we stand for. We stand on principle. It's much better to collect 100% of $0.00 than to collect 40% of $1 million.

I heard that Lockport will be building horse stalls on State Street once Turner is elected Mayor.

The council cannot vote against a proposal that is never presented to them ! Can't give incentives if no one shows up with a development proposal. Please state which development proposals that Mr. Kelly and Mr. Turner voted against. That's only 2 votes in any case.

I guess you didn't read Turner's response last month in the Legend regarding incentives to developers.

I guess you're blinded by that dollar they are going to save on your water bill.

I canít argue with your point. However what is troubling about your statement is that it appears our entire city council is oblivious to the development opportunities that are out there. Like they say you canít get into the game unless you ante up. Wal-Mart always likes to position Samís Clubs near their Wal-Mart stores. We certainly have a big Super Wal-Mart, why werenít we in the loop on this? I am not saying that it was ours to lose but to not even throw our hat into the ring? Shameful.

Why bother attracting businesses to Lockport? You will just complain after they are built attracting hill billies! You are unbelievable! You want Lockport circled with lousy chain restaurants and business bound for failure! You need to convince a developer of demand.

With hill billies like you content with kids packed in like sardines in a tiny high school in Lockport for 3 seperate cities, how do you expect the developers to develop here!

WOULD YOU WANT TO DEAL WITH THIS MAJORITY STARING YOU IN THE FACE? The word is out about this city council MAJORITY led by Turner and screaming Tom and the antics they have been up to. As someone on here said, horse stalls are next. Developers do not deal with uncooperative cities. I was at a meeting and a developer left saying for all to hear that he will never come back to Lockport. It is a known fact, IF YOU READ THE CITY FATHERS OF ROMEOVILLE AND WHAT THEY SAID AND WHAT THEY WOULD DO TO GET DEVELOPMENT, THAT IS NOT LOCKPORT. FIRST OF ALL, QUALIFIED STAFF LIKE KIMBERLY JONES DEALT WITH THE DEVELOPERS AND AMY RIEES. OTHERWISE WE WOULD NOT HAVE THE WALMART WE HAVE AND ALL THE DEVELOPMENT THAT STOPPED WHEN THESE PEOPLE TOOK OVER. ASK TOM KELLY AND ASK KELLY TURNER ABOUT THEIR THOUGHTS ON DEVELOPMENT. WOULD THEY EVER GIVE SIXTY PERCENT TO A DEVELOPER? NEVER! THEY HAVE SAID ON TV THAT DEVELOPERS SHOULD GIVE THEM....NOT LOCKPORT GIVE INCENTIVES. OH THAT WAS ANOTHER LOWLIFE COUNCILMAN AND A HOT HEAD TOO THAT ALSO SAID THAT. IT IS ONTO NOTHINGNESS IF THIS MAJORITY LED BY THE NON BUSINESS PERSON CALLED KELLY WINS. WORK TO GET ANYONE ELECTED AND GIVE THEM A TRY SINCE THIS GROUP HAS PROVEN THEMSELF WELL TO THE PUBLIC....NOBODYS DOING NOTHING! OH, YES, THEY ARE TAKING OUR TAXPAYER DOLLARS AND GIVING IT AWAY. IS LOCKPORT BETTER OFF WITH THEM?????????? THE ANSWER IS ....NO!

That is right you need houses built and people to substantiate the need for stores but you never will give incentives and your lame excuses doe not fly. As for the high school, it is just fine and we could fit more into it. Go to Wall Mart on Sunday and the people coming to it are from surrounding cities as well. Your argument is lame! Very lame!

Just a quick correction for the Herald News. They switched the numbers around by mistake. Romeoville actually gets the 60%. Then 100% in just a few short years because it won't take long to reach the max if the deal.

Oh and don't forget Romeoville also recently announced a new $100 million industrial bakery facility being built with hundreds of new jobs as well.

All anyone needs to do is watch any council meeting since May 2011 when a developer comes to the microphone. Every developer gets belittled by five people. Stupid question after stupid question gets asked. A five minute "welcome to Lockport" turns into an hour long "we really don't want you coming here".

Just look at last years nonsense with ML Realty. ML Realty had an occupant for the first building on the property at 143rd and Gougar. This occupant was going to bring 400 jobs to the site. That's right, 400 jobs. All the council had to do was approve extending a water line (that the previous owner of the property fronted the City $3 million to do the job) to the property and Lockport gets the jobs. The Mayor and the horrible three all voted yes to meet the City's obligation to the annexation agreement and extend the water line.

The Turner gang all voted no to extending the water line. It was clear at the time that the five have no interest in commercial development. New commercial development makes Lockport more attractive to new residential development. New residential development makes it more attractive to commercial development. New property and sales tax eases the current financial burden from all of us currently living in Lockport.

It's obvious that the Turner gang has no intention of making Lockport a better place to live. That's why homes are being built and commercial development has gone on in every commmunity surrounding Lockport. As long as Turner and his people are in charge Lockport will continue to go absolutely nowhere.

That is your answer to the post. Why don't we know who this is? Could it be the nobody, the head of the council majority. Let's make a bet!

Hit the nail on the head! You know he is on here defending their rotten political stances since they got on. We are going to change all of that at the voting booth. Talk to everyone you know. The downtown meetings have been helpful. We are out to change Lockport, not make it horse stall country!

This was Turner's plot when he got on to do nothing but change the former administration's staff and undo everything. He does that by his lies and intimidation. But IT DOES NOT WORK WITH US, BIG BOY! THIS IS A TERRIFIC POST AND SHOWS THE OTHER SIDE OF LOCKPORT WHERE PEOPLE WERE INTERESTED IN GETTING SOMETHING DONE AND BE PROFESSIONAL ABOUT IT. HE IS A LOSER AND ALWAYS A LOSER NO MATTER WHAT THE VOTES SAY....BYE IN APRIL AT THE ELECTION!

We agree and will bring all of this up at our next meeting. We had over one hundred people at the last one, all wishing to get involved and stopping the politics that are in motion in Lockport.

We are in complete agreement that their lies and intimidation will not work this time around! The word is out! He is probably baffled as to what to do as his door hangers and his buddy running from house to house is not going to work. Having a late postcard arrive the Monday before election is another trick of his. Having false postal letters like last time around will not work. The culprit was found out by a KG resident who exposed him in the Herald News by the initials of TK, presently on the cc. You know him but don't believe lies...interrogate the person you are voting for. Know what they stand for and their background. If all they can talk about is the other guy....show them the door! Vote for the other person. If the postcards don't tell their vision for Lockport (like Romeoville incentives for development, etc. and where the money is going right now) show them the door! Know that your vote counts and make it count for Lockport not them!

Where have you been lately...MARS ! There is a huge warehouse going up off Gougar Rd. and a bunch of black pipe along the west side of Gougar Rd. from 151st to 147th. Where do you think the water is coming from to support that warehouse development of ML Realty...if the extension was NOT approved. That did not happen 5 years ago....it was quite recent....or were you still on Mars when this all went down !! You would gripe about anything even when a truly large development is underway under your runny nose. Good grief already ! Stop with the hate mongering already before you blow a gasket !

Where were those 100 people hiding at the last council meeting ? Were you at the Lockport meeting or the Romeoville meeting...you know that town you love so much ?? If you were at the Lockport meeting..only the usual malcontents were there namely Deskin and LaBriola. If that was your 100...you came up short a few bodies !
