Have u been in there lately while its raining outside or after a rain fall and see the buckets on the floor catching the water from the ceiling? If so do you feel safe? I just hope no one is in there if it caves in!

The previous owner of the strip mall occupied by Corwin's deferred maintenance everywhere he could, including fixing the leaky roof. He collected all the rents, but he didn't do any more repairs than he absolutely had to do.
The new owner is in the process of doing a total rehabilitation of the entire building, both inside and outside. When Corwin's moves down to the east end of the building where Fairway use to be, the space now occupied by Corwin's will be rehabbed for other businesses. Also, Corwin's will be getting a drive-up window for the pharmacy, something that they don't have now.

Corwin's has been a mess since the day we moved into town. They have so much crap in that store you have to crawl over things to get what you are looking for.

I hope they clean up their act after their move. Right now it looks like a bunch of 10+ year old stuff at a big garage sale.

I was in Corwin's a few days ago buying fabric. The manager had the floor plans out for the new building and he explained the new layout. It looks like it is going to be very nice and better organized.

It's true that things can be hard to find right now, but I have gone there for years for craft supplies and it has never really bothered me.(It's better than driving all the way to Micheals in Crest Hill!)

Anyways, I am excited about the new move and glad that the owners are putting money into Corwins. At least somebody is putting money into something these days.

It is a dump and they have had years to fix it and did not. I do not do business there as I go to another pharmacy. I feel a place that looks like that, I would be better served at anoher pharmacy. I am pleased with the cleanliness of where I go.

I was just in corwins yesterday and i was looking for a certin fabric pattern that i could not find anywhere and the lady at the craft table said she would look for me to see if she could order it. She called me afew hours later and said she found it and it would be in in a few days. They really go out of there way to satisfy their customers. I'm a customer for life now.

I agree Milly. Corwin's customer service is outstanding. Over 30 years of being a customer there are too many good experiences to recount but one I'll never forget was my child being sick and the doctor calling in a prescription close to closing hours. Corwin's stayed open to fill my order past closing, then waited for my husband to arrive. They also have supported so many churches, sports teams and school organizations over the years that there are too many to list. When my kids were younger and I was asking for donations for these types of groups, Corwin's was always very generous. When the Walgreens first opened in their previous location, they had to ask the regional office for donations and the answer was no. While everyone likes a brand, spanking new building, the Corwin's building condition does not indicate the level of service or the community support. Like Milly, I'm a customer for life.

I LOVE Ben Franklin's and Corwins.....So what if they have "old" stock? I was ecstatic to find a bunch of stuff in both stores that isn't made/sold anymore that I couldn't find anywhere else.

I also like Corwins and Ben Franklin's. I agree that they are generous to different clubs, and organizations in our area. I like the variey of items and they do often have just what I was looking for and couldn't find anywhere else. I support our small local businesses. Everytown has a Walmart, Target, Mcdonalds etc. Boring!
