Let me first say I have no allegiance to any candidate in Lockport. My mind is open to my ballot at this time.
I understand that you are running for Mayor of Lockport.
This I wouldn't know had it not been via word of mouth and a few tidbit articles in the Lockport Legend.
In case you didn't know, we do live in a digital world now. I have tried to find your website but have been unable. Forgive me if you have one and I haven't found it. Your opponent has a website ( http://steveforlockport.com/ ) in which he lays out his plans for the future of Lockport, introduces himself etc. I have no idea what your vision is. Where do I find that out? Stump speech at the Landing? Mayorial debate with your opponent? Junk mail? Meeting me for a beer? The fact that you have not embraced digital media scares me to thinking you are one that cannot be progressive in your thinking about Lockport. Silly I know, your supporters will say "just because he doesn't have a website is no reason not to vote for him". Well, I view a campaign as a job interview plain and simple. Not embracing where the future of the world is clearly headed is one thing that can give one pause in the hiring process.
Why should I vote for you?
Do you expect the old Lockport guard to slap each other on the back (and ass)and vote for you just because? What is your vision and how do you realistically plan to achieve those goals in spite of economic and political difficulty here in Lockport?
I am not interested in what you have done in the past. In fact, that could be detrimental to you as your track record in Lockport quite frankly blows. It would be like asking Lovie Smith about his past record with the Bears... We are concerned about the future of the Bears and Lockport not the past. Glory days of old does not move Lockport forward today. To wit: the trip to the 2006 Super Bowl did not get the Bears in the playoffs this year.
I did find this YouTube video online (
I've seen city council meetings and let me be brutally honest. Your actions and behavior in those meetings ain't helping your cause.
Mr Turner, please, show your face to the electorate of Lockport and tell us how you can make Lockport the city on the move without all the politics, gimmicks, good ol boy networks and games.
Is that too much to ask?
Is Lockport an historic city on the move or not and how do you fit into your response?
Best of luck.
