I have raised this point myself. I don't get any answers. Thing is that there are very few Atheists that actually care about such things. To them it's just a lawn ornament. What's funny is that the people that raise these issues and call the ACLU typically have a Christmas tree in there front room. This sort of thing has little to do with separation of church and state and alot to do with getting their name in the paper. They don't care about their rights. They call themselves progressive but their actions continue to strip away the rights of others. The only progression they seek is for their own personal fulfillment with little regard for others.Couldn't the lack of the Ten Commandments be a constitutional injustice because it singles out atheism as an institution of "non-religion" therefore giving atheism an unfair leg up in government matters where religion isn't allowed anyway?
I have also found through a bit of research that with the current interpretation of the Constitution that the State can NOT place State owned religious symbols on State property with State labor, private groups CAN file for permits to display religious symbols on State property and do so at their own cost. As long as the State agrees to issue permits for ALL reasonable displays, by ANY religion then there is nothing that the ACLU or the chronic whiners can say about it. Although they will, and would try.
Which leads us to the current situation. Local governments, States and the like are basically not willing to take a stand and argue that things are getting out of have when they are not allowed to put a Christmas tree in the corner of their office. It's simply easier to not do it than to deal with the ACLU.
The ACLU is well funded by the same progressives and our government to push what ever will THEY decide is acceptable. These are the folks that argue for rights for illegal immigrants, continue to push for special rights for 'minorities'(never mind we now have a Black President, I mean how do you reasonably launch any argument of equal rights for Black Americans at this point). But they will duck and run from the white guy looking for education funding from the United Negro College fund, which by its very name indicates that it's racist. In fact ANY group that favors one race is based on an idea of racism. I don't see the ACLU telling ANY of these groups to shut their doors, but start the White's only college fund and the ACLU will have the National Guard called up to shut the doors on that. Again, we allow this sort of stupidity and racism because they are well funded and government backed. This needs to end before it causes problems. I am not naive enough to say that there are not whites that are racist. The KKK is proof of that. But the KKK is not main stream, neither are any of the other white's only racist groups. But the biggest racist group there in existence is very main stream, and that's the federal government. With the existence of affirmative action laws and requirements of racial equality they favor everyone but the whites. Problem is that whites are in the minority and no one seems to recognize this.
