Village of Lockland, Ohio has been sued in federal court again this year {first suit filed by jaspir singh alleging civil rights violation when pulled over by lockland po-lice and cited for displaying a fop sticker on his car} for numerous civil rights violations: separation of church and state [display of ten commandments in front of administrative building], retaliation for exercising free speak rights, unbridled delegation of authority to the legislative body of lockland government resulting in due process violations, etc. see: knecht v. village of lockland, ohio, et al., case no. c-1-09-696 (s.d. ohio)

A class action should be initiated against the village. I heard they have two ski jets...what do the village need with two ski jets? Especially when the economy is bad, they should sell those and use the money to upgrade that filthy strip called wyoming avenue

Cited for displaying a sticker?! They must not have anything to do and with new allegations of civil rights violations it seems the village of lockland is in for a challenge

didn't someone working for the village go to prison for stealing 160,000 from the village?

Lockland police try to hide behind the bushes of adleta construction on anthony wayne trying to catch people speeding. everyone is aware of them and it seems pathetic to have to generate revenue that way. maybe if they fixed up their rotting town they would better generate revenue via property taxes and enticing businesses to return. i'm glad i don't live in that toilet of a town

Sure, EVERY town has it's bad spots and it's problems. Lockland isn't really all that bad. I've lived here for awhile now and haven't had any MAJOR problems. The upper part of wyoming ave has seen it's better days BUT lockland is TRYING to fix it up. I've seen the way it USED to be and how things are TRYING to be now.Give it time and I believe it MIGHT work out.

Lockland has lost all of my respect and patronage. I will never shop at any business that has locations in Lockland and will encourage my friends and family to do the same. I received a speeding ticket in Lockland and I did not receive a fair trial in my opinion. Then once I was found guilty, I went to this back room and told the baliff I needed to go to an ATM to get my cash to pay my fine. He instructed me I was under arrest and would have to have someone bring me the cash or spend three days in jail in Clinton County. There was no alternative like a stay to pay go to the bank and bring the money back. This arrogant operation had 6 officers in this little cramped room policing traffic court. Then 90% of the people in the traffic court did not even live in the city of Lockland. They were people passing by, so in order to eliminate this I recommend that every individual boycott Lockland businesses and go the speed limit on 75 North bound to drain their finances and make it a ghost town. I know I will never buy or travel in any aspect of Lockland because their police dept is not assembled to protect and serve rather to ticket and build revenue for a falling city.

Lockland's speeding ticket prices are outrageous!

Not one under $135.00

Someone should do something, this is not just.

I just came from court in this city. So many shady tactics were used. I'm contacting my attorney in the morning. They will not get away with this. MARK MY WORDS...they have messed with the wrong person. I'm going to have my attorney contact everyone from the mayor to the police chief. I'm amazed people take these tactics and move on with their life.

you can contact me. I would be interested in hearing what the village idiots of lockland did. my email address is [email protected] On another note, the Hamilton COUnty Municipal court recently held that the owners of a rottweiler located at 523 cooper avenue are harboring a vicious dog (knecht v. Swann, et al. 09CV22410)yet I bet the village idiots aren't enforcing the vicious dog laws they have in place. Villages or rather pathetic governmental agencies like lockland go uncheck for years resulting in abusive power, etc., etc. theses facts are already known and you can read about them in federal court via the lawsuits against lockland or in the paper. It's people like me who aren't going to let it continue.

"someone should do something" That is how it usually goes: always someone but not me. Sheep like you should just lay down because if you wait on someone to do something for somebody then nobody will get anything done for anybody

It's the court cost that is so high most cities the court cost is $150.00 plus the fine for the ticket.

Prices are ridiculious! Over $300 for a run of the mill traffic ticket...NO option to pay part of it and the rest later. I'm on unemployment and don't even get that much in 3 weeks so how am I supposed to pay this off in two?

Whoever commented on the person who embezzled the money, she got $160K and no jail, no fine, no fee, and she is a DJ in the Valley area. She never even had to pay the money back! Seeing her out and about makes me ill. She also stole money from the bars she was DJing at AFTER Lockland let her go...not that you should be surprised.

Lockland was a nice place not that long ago and now you couldn't pay me to patronize ANYTHING there.

Their police need to stop camping out on the highway and behind buildings giving out tickets for small things and get the people out of there who ruined a quaint village.

Look at what happend to Arlington Heights - Lockland will not be around much longer. They will be the next to be belly-up. When you call their police station you get transferred to Cincinnati (Lockland has lost their dispatchers due to lack of funds) then they transfer the call to an officer, who then will go out.

Everyone is hurting for money, but this is just simply unacceptable and frustrating! They have lots of people suing the Village...this is NOT normal, for abusive power of police tactics among other things - I wish I had a decent job right now and I would do the same thing. This is outrageous.
