Yet another example of our teenagers getting killed, when will we wake up and smell the roses. Kids can't driver when they are 15-16 years old. Add alcohol and it is worst. Colorado needs to raise the driving age ....Period!!!!

Raising the driving age won't do any good when the kids drink, steal mommy's car and crash into a garage a block from home.

As far as I'm concerned this isn't news, this is just another example of piss-poor parenting. One less alcoholic adult we'll have to deal with in ten years. Maybe two if his death scares his friend into not drinking anymore too, but I won't hold my breath.

Not all kids are going to get drunk and act apon stupid was such as this. I think that we are not giving some teen drivers fair treatment on the road. Just because they may be teenagers does not mean that they are going to be high risk drivers.

If I had a child, rest easy knowing I wouldn't be giving them alcohol and letting them get away with anything they want while putting others in danger for my stupidity.

In my experience it's not the drunks or the kids we need to worry about...

It's the jackholes with a cellphone pressed to their heads or the young professional playing around with his laptop in the passenger seat.

Not to mention the clowns with a DVD player mounted in the dash.

In my opinion anyone caught phoning, texting, watching TV or breastfeeding while driving should receive an 8 point violation.

Yeah...well....when they have five fatal/serious injury crashes within one week, then we may come to agree with you.

Tell THAT one to the insurance companies!!! Hey, stats tell the story. Teens are the highest risk drivers on the road. Period.

Where in this story does it say that a teen was driving??? I am so tired of all the comments about teens everytime one gets into an accident! what about all the bone head adult drivers? look at those stats! way more drunk adults on the road I dont let my teens drive because of the adult drivers on the road out there they scare me the most, and this comes from a person who drives 1000+ miles a week! I see more stupidity caused by adults than teens dailey! I also have heard so many adults running around BRAGGING about all the DUI's they have had in the past and got away with, punish them! and maybe they will think twice about doing it again, well maybe not!

Keep watching the news for updates on the story, ok?

Once they get the facts straight, then you'll know what happened too. Until you know the facts, don't assume we don't.

*What about those kids whose parents don't give it to them and they find other means of getting a hold of it. I am ashamed to say that I was one of those kids. I found adults that would go buy it for me and my friends so they could earn a little extra money. Not to mention some resturants fail to card and they end up saling to minors. I went to a resturant where we played pool one time and they didn't card me or any of my friends and that night we ended being stupid by driving home while intoxicated. I know now that it was one of the stupidest things I have ever done, but I learned my lesson and now I want to be an example for the simple fact that you don't have to be cool or have fun by drinking or doing drugs. Kids will usually do it anyway...but we need to stand up and be an example to and for one another to make the places we live in better.*

That is the operative word here Sandra.. "IF I had a child"... I have 2 children. They have been taught well. I totally trust them. However.. should they make a wrong choice one day to pick up alcohol, it sure wasn't me LETTING them. Become a parent before you start acting like a child psychologist. Your opinion is fine, but it makes no sense to blame a parent every time a kid does something stupid.

Yes, there are bonehead adult drivers too, but the fact that the driver's name was withheld from the news article, usually means a "minor" was invovled. We do need to wait, as the other entry said, to get more facts.
Sadly though, there was another death on the roads, seemingly meaningless and possibly avoidable. I have lost count this month. Hopefully a lot of people, young and old, are hearing these stories and changing their habits.

My prayers for the family of this boy and the driver who will probably need counseling due to this accident.

Keep it mastered! I would hate to see the miracle of life being wasted on the likes of you! You have no opinion in this matter with that kind of attitude. Your to One-sided!
