Suffolk lawmaker offers new working status bill

There are two bills. Beedenbender's bill roughly states that any contractor licensed by Suffolk County (Plumber, electricians, home remodlers, etc) have to ensure that their workers are in the country legally and can work in the country legally and pay all payroll taxes, pay minimum wage and follow the labor laws in order to keep/get/renew their license(s).

Coopers bill is simlar but it removes the requirement of proving the workers are in the country legally.
