The water is cold this time of year. Hypothermia sets in very quickly The coaches should not have taken this crew team out in these choppy conditions. If they must practice they should have stayed very close to the shore.

Sounds like this team is neither good or very smart. They should've known better.

Years ago waterfront property was no big deal. He may have had his house for awhile, and just refinanced to make his home this lovely. Lots of old time bayman have homes on the water. These are types of people who truely love the water and deserve their waterfront homes.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it said the bayman lives in Commack. I don't believe Commack is near the water last time I checked. Also, bayman is a CASH business and perhaps it is possible for one to report less income than someone working for Geico!

Great catch by the Commack bayman.
Also, by the looks of the home surrounding him, it appears that a bayman can do well.

Sorry, still on first cup of coffee. I think of a baymen as living on the water also, not in the middle of the Island. Thank you for pointing that out :-)

"All of the students were taken to Huntington Hospital, where they were treated and released, police said."

I'm surprised they didn't air lift them to Stony Brook.

A good crew would have gone down with the ship. A crew with half a brain wouldn't have been out there.

The man risked his life saved these kids and you gripe about it. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Als if you are a teacher I am worried about what you are teaching our youths .UOTE]
