Wow, very, very sad. It's scary when you can't even have neighborhood squabbles anymore without having to fear for your life. My prayers go out to the friends and families of the victims and may they RIP.

It's no different than any other race when you give a stupid person a gun.

That is so tragic. What a horrific neighbor dispute they must have had. From reading this article, the shooter must have had a chip on his shoulder, big time.

Criminal records indicate that the dead men were dirtbags. Active criminals.

I have a hard time believing anything anything the "victims" family has to say. The daughter says Fletchner challenged Owen to a fight. Oh really? Could it be that Owen (who was much younger than Fletchner) was unwarranted in going to physically attack the older man, and that Fletchner feared for his own life? The story isn't that Fletchner went on "their" property.

The moral of the story is, stay on your own property and you're not tougher than an old guy with a gun.

Please people, there are two sides to every story. Don't be sucked in, this side just happened to get to the newspaper first!

They were people, not the butt of jokes... real live people. They had feelings and dreams just like anyone else. Yes, they also had a past. We all do some more sorted than others. But they were trying to move on and start again. Dirt-bags no, just people who made some wrong choices. I don't care who you are, they shouldn't have died like this... he deserved better.

My condolences to the family's. My heart goes out to you, may you some how find peace.

I cant believe you people. your making it sound like its ok for someone to shoot somebody. you all need to keep your mouths shut becuase none of you know the true story except for the people who were there. My friends mom didnt deserve to die and neither did her bf and friend.

It looks like the persons who got shot had extensive criminal records...and the shooter did not...they went over to his property...on its face it sounds like self defense on ones own property but I will reserve judgment until the DA files charges....either way, had they stayed home and not gone over to his property they probably would still be alive today....lesson learned here...file a police report if someone is making threats, don't go to their home to challenge them...doesn't make sense to do so...obviously, 3 people are dead now because they didn't do so...sad for everyone involved, particularly if there are kids involved...

I'm sure the suspect was scared for his life having these felon's come onto his property and threaten him. I do believe the constitution allows you to protect yourself. Looks like thats what he did.

The D.A. hasn't filed charges yet according to the website.
