Being a volunteer and
listening to my scanner they just called in East Rochester, Penfield, etc. etc. and multiple ladder trucks to assist. They also are requesting the third battalion rope and rescue squad to respond which includes multiple fire districts trucks to assist in the rescue. I hope he is ok.

The cliff was located on Mission Rd in the Town of Conesus. The Conesus Fire Department called in the Livonia Fire Department for their rope team, then called in the Ontario County Rope team to assist.

Did anyone badmouthing this poor kid actually read this article!!

There were TWO ravine incidents. One involved the teenage boy slipping into the gorge (Conesus), the other was about the dog slipping (Penfield).

And if you want to be technical about the township this part of town overlooks Hemlock Lake, the mailing address is Conesus and the school district is Livonia.

Thank God they were hiking in pairs. Only one of them fell and the other had his cell phone to call for help. This could have ended up worse.

Volunteer Fire and EMS are still useless. You don't see volunteer cops running around doing the same things real cops do.

Let's hope you never have need for one of those "volunteers" to rescue you or possibly save your life. I bet either would be there in a heart beat for you, even though you don't seem worthy of their effort.
