Wasn't his wife murdered? I remember seeing a movie years ago where the dark haired man played him and then they had this goofy looking guy play him in the next movies. Was she not shot to death?

I was by the museum about 2 weeks ago. Just a normal 1960's house in a neighborhood. I know the guy that bought the Puser restraunant. He tells me the town is kinda trying to get away from the Puser thing. Time to move on he says. I think Puser's daughter just released a new book that has restarted interest about him.

I used to be a big fan of Buford's. So much so that I went to Adamsville and Selmer to interview many of the real life people from the movie "Walking Tall". The Club owners, moonshiners, bootleggers and Law Enforcement Officers. I Walked away with the knowledge that Buford Pusser was part of the problem at the state line, not part of the solution. He was corrupt as a sheriff accepting payoffs from a lot of people. Too bad Phil Karlson didn't check the story out before he made "Walking Tall". There weren't many good guys in the true story. I now understand why so many of the locals believe that there was no ambush and that Pusser may have murdered his own wife.

Go to yahoogroups and look for the forum crimemyths if you want to see lots of photos and documentation on the subject. They tell both sides of the story

I don't think it was about trying to eliminate corruption at the state line so much as it was about being in control of the corruption. Whoever had control had the opportunity to make a great deal of money. If the state liners had control, they made money. If a sheriff had control, he could make a great deal of money by accepting payoffs for overlooking violations and criminal activity by joint operators, moonshiners and bootleggers.

The goofy looking guy was Bo Svenson who was as goofy looking as Joe Don Baker, and Brian Denehey who played Buford Pusser in another sequel called "Hard Stick". But, I would only call them goofy as I was running away, with a tail wind, in an F-14, with them having a dead battery....and even then I'd be looking over my shoulder!

. It wasn't me and I don't hate Pusser...I appreciate the truth and the truth is that the Pusser legend is built mostly I'm lies and myth.

Daily Horoscope for May 20

Taurus

If a friend has been bugging you recently, you are likely to have a few sharp words with them today. However, least said soonest mended, so don't labour the point or turn them against you. Besides, you have better things to do with your time now, such as taking part in a big gathering of likeminded people or having a long chat with one special person.
