Maybe it wasnt there fault but to leave a friend dead or dying unattended by themselves is nothing short of scum white trash. They should be prosicuted to the fullest extent of the law and have community service at the emergency room at a Busy Hospital in Nashville.

she had been dead for at least 3 hours.
Her mother lives in another county.
No mention of a father in the Obit.
Is this child neglect?
It sounds so to me .
A child is dead and no parent in the home.
Nothing will be done as usual in this county but anywhere else, there would be someone to take responsibility of this.
Why was that child not in school?
shame on those involved , a child is dead.

she was dropped off and left at hospital like she was nothing. she does have a very good mother and her father is deceased. like other parents in this world assumed she was at school or where she was suppose to be. the whole story is on the front page of the herald citizen today and as the paper said i hope they do prosecute whoever if they did give her something. she was 16 and they should go after them maybe it would stop some of this if they would start prosecuting the adults that freely hand out their medication.

LIVINGSTON -- The body of a teenage girl was brought to the hospital emergency room in Livingston early yesterday, and the man and woman who brought her there are under investigation. Authorities involved in the investigation believe that Kayla Bilbrey, 16, of Livingston, died of a drug overdose. If that proves to be true, it could turn into a murder case.

Reportedly, she was brought to Livingston Regional Hospital around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday in a private car and was dead on arrival. According to some sources, the man and woman who brought her there then left the scene, but were later located by police for questioning in the case and are now under investigation. District Attorney Randy York, contacted by the Herald-Citizen this morning, declined to discuss the case in any detail, but did confirm that an investigation into the case, a possible homicide, is underway. The body of the girl has been sent to Nashville for an autopsy.

Hospital officials contacted police early Tuesday when it was determined that the patient who had been left at the ER entrance was dead, some sources said. Livingston Police Chief Greg Etheredge, his detectives, Overton Sheriff W.B. Melton and his deputies, York and his investigators, Terry Hembree and Greg Phillips, as well as TBI agents worked on the case all day yesterday and most of Tuesday night, gathering evidence and interviewing possible witnesses.

Reportedly, they are looking at a possible second degree murder charge against the person or persons who supplied the drugs believed to have caused the death. The state law on second degree murder specifies the crime as "the knowing killing of another" or as "a killing of another which results from the unlawful distribution of any Schedule I or Schedule II drug when such drug is the proximate cause of the death of the user." Second degree murder is a Class A felony. Kayla Bilbrey was a student at Livingston Academy High School.

Thank you for putting in the CORRECT information. I am so glad to see that someone knows that what they read on TOPIX MAY BE GOSSIP AND LIES. The family needs prayer most of all.People should not judge . How many times a parent is called unfit . that is simply not true. Many loving parents loose their children needesly at the hands of another. I can not fathem what this family is going through. Please do not judge greiving famalies, remember them in your prayer.

The girl was a very sweet and out going child. She had been friends with my child. So I know her and her whole family. She has a VERY VERY SWEET AND LOVING MOM. So STAY OFF OF HER BACK. Keep this whole family in your prayers and not judge them.

I dont understand why people want to critize. a young girls is gone shes never coming back what a waste she was a beuatiful girl who had her whole life before her the one thing i see wrong in this is that kayla trusted the wrong people but shes a young girl and what youn g girl would think that someone could do this to her my prayers go out to her family and i hope they find out who she was with and who dropped her off and they prosecute them to the fullest and i hope kaylas mom stays strong and keep fighting for justice for kayla she deserves that kayla no longer has to suffer the troubles of this world but her friends do so i hope you all learn from this i have a daughter that was kaylas friend shes been to my home alot. she was a very well liked young girl and because some idiot kaylas mom will not get to c her graduate highschool or see her daughter get married i hope i never have to endure your pain carol my heart goes out to you look to God for guidance i have heard God never puts to much on you that you cant handle but i know sometimes it feels like God is punishing us but He never promised another day another month another breath so we need to enjoy our time with our children .

When I heard about this, I was devistated. I do not know the young girl or even the family, but I have a chile, a 10 month old and just the thought of someone being so careless with my son as what happend here breaks my heart, the thought of this happening to any child is traumatizing. It breaks my heart to know that yet another child has lost her life because of this. Seriousley, I am not trying to pass judgement, but what kind of people are you that done this? What if this were your child, how would feel if someone just dumped your childs body knowing what you knew. You might have been the one to save her life and you just left her for dead and its exactley what you got. For this I hope that KARMA bites you so hard and you somehow have to suffer just as much as this woman who has lost a child is. I do not wish for loss of life on you, but may you suffer thw wrath of evil and realize what you have done..I know this may sound harsh, but like I said, I have a child of my own and I would simpley die if someone disrespected my child in this manner or any other. To the family involved, I prey for you, for your child and for you to be comforted in this time for I can never imagen what you are feeling and pray that I never have to...Tho I may not know you, I love you all and hope you make it thru this successfully as possible...
