Cindy Robbins is only running for the money. Does she really know what this job does?
She reminds me of Peck Smith, She always helps at Fundraisers for people in hard times and benefits . She has never taken a penny for making the County Fair and all those programs become the best fair in the state for its size. She always talks with the people she serves in the city and county positions she has and dosent talk about people running against her. When she ran for city counsel a few years ago an opponent went around telling people we dont need a woman in that job. lately a female opponent is telling lies on everyone running for the spot including Ms. Robbins. Around election time you will hear anything but Im voting for Cindy. She is highly qualified for that job.
To me , decency, character and always willing to help others is a very high character issue. Havent seen that in too many people running for office.

Barbara Matthews was not fired. Get your facts correct. Ask Johnny?? If he tells you that Barbara
was fired, he is not telling the truth.
Barbara is a hard worker, honest, dependable and will
work when elected not hold the title.

Cindy Robbins and Peck Smith have supported benefits for years.
They arent strangers helping people on the mountain either.
They did this before entering offices and have won very impressively. Being good to people and helping others helps our community.
Me and my family will be voting for them !

Guess Qualification means nothing to you. Just as long as you are a good old boy. You might check the golf course every morning during the summer and see who's playing golf. It's time our county set standard guidlines, qualification a candidate must met in order to run. I think they should be requires to work not just hold the office.

Hmmm, I plan on voting for Barbara unless something happens to change my mind. I like Mark Peek as a person and all, but isn't he on the school board and has his photography/video production business, along with that event center to run? Just seems like way to many hats to wear. I want someone devoted to the job. I mean we're paying them over 50k a year!!
Cindy Robbins does also seem like a very good candidate.

Another thought....
I am very happy that a lot of candidates choose to help with benefits and go to every funeral around to pay respects. But, if they are doing these things, I hope it's out of the goodness of their own hearts, not just to snag a vote here or there.

Have you ever had a death in the family around election time?? They all come out of the woodwork then. I will say Peck has always been the type of goodhearted person who is there because he cares, election year or not. I'm not so sure about the rest.

I don't think benifits and soforth are in the job specifications. Helping people is a real good thing, don't get me wrong. The main thing, can they do the job their running for? We need some one that will take care of buisness first. Honesty, common sense, experienced, intelligent, consertive, and try to improve; thats what we need.

Mark is stepping down from the board to run for clerk. He always gives 100% for the schools and will as clerk. His wife has the event center. He would do good.

i will say that a lot of people who post here have no idea what is involved in running the clerk's office. it is more than writing warrants and showing up at court. we need someone who is honest and hard working, with no outside business interests to pull them away from their job, in my opinion. there are some good folks running, and one dud. won't even say who the dud is. maybe we won't find out.

I cant vote for Mark Peek.
Too many flashing lights at that bus stop.
He seems to be a poor business man and has had several personal problems that I wont talk about.
I just dont think it would be wise to vote for him.
He has been blowing about working for 12 or 15 different circuit court clerk offices across the state in training and Id like to know what he was training them for. It sure wasnt doing the job of the Circuit Court Clerk . Too much blow going on.
No way will I vote for Mark Peek and for many more reasons I wont list here.

If Peck Smith wants to play a game of golf, thats his business and not yours. Cant anyone have some recreation in their lives?
No, helping people in need, helping in benefits , working in the church IS NOT qualifications for that job but it shows the character they possess. Peck Smith and Cindy Robbins always have done this. They never took a penny for nothing or ask for nothing.
There are a few good people around you know.
They have my family's vote and I hope other people feel the same!

Yes it's great to play golf and have some recreation but
not when County tax payers dollars are paying you to work. I think when you are elected to a County position you should be required to work not just hold the position and someone else do the work. What does playing golf on County time say for your character?

If everyone would just think about it. It's the people that works in the offices that run it.It's not really the elected one. But the elected one has to answer to whatever is ask.

The elected ones are supposed to be in the office working too. But there is only one that is in there all the time working unless there is a special meeting or an emergency. She is unapposed this time too. Does that tell you something?
