PUTNAM COUNTY -- A Cookeville man was seriously injured in a stabbing incident Saturday, and a Livingston man is being held in jail without bond on a charge of attempted criminal homicide. Frankie S. Webb, 42, of Robinson Road, Cookeville, suffered multiple stab wounds in the throat and arms and is a patient in Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Putnam Sheriff David Andrews said. Arrested soon after the incident was Timothy Daryl Richardson, 35, of Clark Street, Livingston.

The stabbing took place inside a vehicle near the Forbidden bar on Miller Road. Deputy Jeremy Nash said he and other deputies were sent to that location at 12:45 a.m. Saturday to investigate "a possible stabbing." When the officers arrived, they saw "a white male subject laying face down just inside the entrance gate covered up with some type of jacket or blanket," the report says.
here was a "substantial amount of blood" on the ground around the victim, the deputy said.

Putnam Ambulance paramedics arrived then and began to treat the victim, and they told the deputies that he had several stab wounds. Someone on the scene pointed out the victim's car, and the deputies found a large amount of blood in, on, and around the car, Deputy Nash said. A woman on the scene told the deputies that she and other people had chased a man they believed to be the suspect down the road and said he ran into the woods and they lost sight of him. They described him as a white male wearing a black leather jacket and having bushy hair. Cookeville Police Officers Chris Melton and Jamie McCurry came to help, bringing a tracking dog, and the officers and the dog tracked through the woods for some distance before coming out in a field.

They then began another track, and this time, Nash spotted a man lying face down in the woods. "I drew my weapon and ordered him to show me his hands, and he complied with my orders. I asked him where the weapon was and he stated that he did not know." The officers handcuffed Timothy Daryl Richardson and led him out of the woods. He was placed into a patrol car and taken to jail. Sheriff's Detective Brian Maxwell began an investigation and later took a warrant charging Richardson with attempted criminal homicide. That warrant alleges that Richardson and Webb were sitting in Webb's car "outside Club Forbidden" and that Richardson "stabbed Webb multiple times about the throat and arms."

"The victim managed to get out of the vehicle and go to the club, where he told people that his friend had stabbed him," the warrant says. "A witness chased (Richardson) from the area into the woods and he was eventually located approximately a mile from the scene," the warrant says. The warrant also alleges that when he was located in the woods, Richardson "had blood all over his clothes and hands." Andrews said Webb was hospitalized and underwent surgery.

The alleged motive of the attack is not mentioned in any reports available today. Other officers who worked at the scene that night included Deputy Sgt. Joe Nash, Cpl. Chuck Ledbetter, and Deputy Bo Sherrell. Richardson has a Dec. 21 court date.

INCIDENT/PRELIMINARY INVESTIGATIVE REPORT
Deputy Jeremy Nash

ON NOVEMBER 21, 2009 at 0045 HRS. I, DEPUTY JEREMY NASH, ALONG WITH SGT. JOE NASH, CPL. CHUCK LEDBETTER, AND DEPUTY BO SHERRELL, WAS DISPATCHED TO MILLER RD IN REFERENCE TO A POSSIBLE STABBING. ALL UNITS ARRIVED AT THE SA\IE TIME. UPON ARRIVAL I OBSERVED A WHITE MALE SUBJECT LAYING FACE DOWN JUST INSIDE THE ENTRANCE GATE COVERED UP WITH SOME TYPE OF JACKET OR BLANKET. I ALSO OBSERVED A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF BLOOD ON THE GROUND AROUND THE VICTIM. Putnam County EMS ARRIVED AT THE SAME TIME AS ALL TI-IE DEPUTIES AND TOOK OVER PATIENT CARE. PARAMEDICS ON THE SCENE STATED THAT THE VICTIM APPEARED TO HAVE SEVERAL STAB WOUNDS. SOMEONE ON THE SCENE POINTED OUT THE VICTIMS CAR TO SGT. NASH AND I. WHEN WE APPROACHED THE CAR, WE OBSERVED A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF BLOOD IN, ON, AND AROUND THE CAR.

I SPOKE WITH A WITNESS, WHO STATED THAT SHE ALONG WITH 3 TO 4 OTHER PEOPLE CHASED WHO THEY BELIEVED TO BE THE SUSPECT DOWN THE ROAD TO OMAS ROAD HOUSE. SHE STATED THAT THE SUBJECT WENT INTO THE WOODS BEHIND OMAS ROAD HOUSE AND THAT WAS THE LAST TIME THEY SEEN HIM. SHE DESCRIBED HIM AS A WHITE MALE WEARING A BLACK LEATHER JACKET AND HAVING BUSHY HAIR. SHE THEN SHOWED SGT. NASH AND I WHERE THE SUBJECT HAD ENTERED THE WOODS.

OFFICERS CHRIS MELTON AND JAMIE MCCURY WITH THE COOKEVILLE POLICE DEPT ARRIVED ON SCENE TO ASSIST IN TRACKING WITH A K-9. OFFICERS MELTON, MCCURY, AND I THEN STARTED A TRACK INTO THE WOODS AND WENT FOR SOME DISTANCE BEFORE COMING INTO A FIELD AND THEN BACK TO THE SCENE. OFFICER MELTON LET HIS K-9 GET A SCENT OFF OF THE CAR AND THEN BEGAN ANOTHER TRACK. THE K-9 WENT BACK INTO THE WOODS NEAR THE SAME LOCATION AS WE ENTERED THE FIRST TIME. WE TRACKED FOR SOME DISTANCE THROUGH THE WOODS. AT A POINT DURING THE TRACK, I OBSERVED A MALE SUBJECT ( LATER IDENTIFIED AS TIM RICHARDSON) LAYING FACE DOWN IN THE WOODS, LAYING ON HIS HANDS. I DREW MY WEAPON AND ORDERED HIM TO SHOW ME HIS HANDS, THE SUBJECT COMPLIED WITH MY ORDERS I ASKED THE SUBJECT WHERE THE WEAPON WAS, AND HE STATED THAT HE DID NOT KNOW AND AT THAT TIME OFFICER MCCURRY AND I PLACED THE SUBJECT IN CUSTODY. WE LED THE SUBJECT OUT OF THE WOODS TO HWY 70 WHERE HE WAS PLACED IN DEPUTY SHERRELLS PATROL CAR AND TRANSPORTED BY DEPUTY SHERRELL.

I RETURNED TO THE SCENE AND ASSISTED DET. BRIAN MAXWELL IN PHOTOGRAPHING THE VEHICLE AND SCENE. I ALSO FILLED OUT A TOW SLIP FOR DET. MAXWELL SINCE HE WAS IMPOUNDING THE VEHICLE FOR EVIDENCE. AT THAT TIME I WENT CLEAR OF THE SCENE

Peter,

Your comments are what's uncalled for! Were you there? Were you in the car with them? You don't know the situation or what events led up to Tim stabbing him.

Yes, there might have been nothing and Tim could have been intentionally trying to kill him, or something could have happened that this was a self defense situation. Nobody knows at this time.

People are going off what they are reading on the internet, newspaper, or the gossip of a bunch of loose lipped assholes. But guess what...the newspapers don't give all the facts to ANY story or case!

There are 3 sides to every story....Side 1, Side 2, and the TRUTH.

So Peter, keep comments like that to yourself and I pray that you are never in a situation where people judge you on what they read or hear from others without knowing all of the facts.

Again, were you there? Nowhere in any of the reports did it say the "friend" was unarmed? So where did you get this information?

I know Tim but not well. I can't see him just stabbing someone for the heck of it. I don't believe that he would do that as most people wouldn't. Hopefully the truth will come out.
