Did anyone else see the annual report where " Our" water dept. paid
almost $190,000 plus $60,000 in employee benifits . I think they have "3" employees. I would like to think MAYBE they are being
over payed. This is really an Issue that needs to be looked at by someone who has the power to change it. Really sad T---- and a few have a job that pays way to much and we have to pay for it.
We pay a lot more than most area in surrounding counties. And he rules with an iron fist no one is able to do anything .
I don't understand how this could be right.

Who is the governing board of the West Overton Water Dept? I don't even know the gentlemen's name that is the dept head!

I recently moved here from Allons and I can't believe the difference in my bill. It's almost tripled here. It is a bigger house, so ok. Maybe double? But Every month there is some issue? It's odd. And at north Overton there is no membership fee. I couldn't believe how high it is here!

Surely there are more than 3 employees though? Every time I have went in there they are very nice. Gotta give them that!

who is Terry Walker? Who appointed him to this office? Terry Walker did not start the West Overton Water Dept. There has to be a board to govern the dept. Thats what I need to know!!

There is a board but I don't know who controls it.
But we the people need to go to a meeeting or something cause this is Wrong in so many ways..
Maybe someone can find out Who can stop this.
Nobody should make that kind of money ,

Terry and his wife live on Hwy 42 . Coming from Rickman on the right before Netherland Church.
I don't know how he got in the postion But he sure takes advantage of it. Someone said they took a vacation to Hawaii last year. And then the rates went up...lol.

I agree, I personally plan on finding out who is on this board and bringing in some investigators. Sound like this is another UCDD scandal. Mr. Walker be afraid, be very afraid. You are going down....

what amount of time did this happen? one month? what? if this was from one month to another month, I would have had a meeting with Mr. Walker, you need to so the same. Go to board to find out who is on this....

I can't understand why city rates are less than out in the county rates.I agree it should be investigated. Hope it is.

It is truly sad that there is no oversight over a small group of people. 1 family is getting rich and the rest have to pay an extra $15 to $20 every month over what others pay for the same amount of water used..

if you will look out in your front yard somewhere is a water meter... ok now look inside meter.... there should be a set of numbers... now then follow along here... take lasts months bill and look for reading... and take what is on meter now which will be larger number.. subtract large number from small number this is number of gallons used!!!!!!!!!! this is what you are charged.

Sounds like some oversight should be in order there. As for your comment "tired of it" you must work there

no i don't work there.. by tired of it imean tired of people trying to cause problems intsead of solving them.. i told you how to read your water meter and evidently it didn't sink in!! read your meter and if there is a problem you will have proof of it not just words! basic math evedently is beyond your skill set.. good luck and good day.

the City sells the water to the district, and then the district sells the water to the customers. Just like any other business has to pay its suppliers. Also, Mr. Walker has to be certified to even hold that job. That certification isn't real easy to get. If you don't like what he's doing, why don't you go get you some books, study for the test, and get your certification. Then maybe you can apply for his job. Most of the time, the employees in these districts wear pagers and are basically on call most of the time. If there is a water main break, they have to get out and get workers and get it fixed. Do you wanna go out in the middle of the night in a flood and work on water lines half the night? I didn't think so. Grow up.

It is not just charging for how much you use.
It is how much they charge you.
They are allowed to charge what they pay and their expenses. It gives them no incentive to watch their expenses. And their salarys are a BIG part of their expenses. They have don't care ..
