i think livingston should spread they wings and not they mouths!!!
open them pockets and get some real life fun in here so that the community can love where they come from then to hate it and leave it!!!
there is so much this town could do to where everyone profits but like they said above the old money and old names do the deciding for us!!
this is america not the country of livingston!!
lol,i agree with making livingston a more family oriented place besides its church services cuz these kids need something to do!!!
;)
you got my vote, lets get with the year it is 2009, not stay stuck back in the past of the 1800's as the future passes us by out here!!!!

Unless the Children get an education, with more Math,Science, and Language,Livingston and Overton County will be a spot on the map in a few more years..

And the elected officials that the people elect many are a joke.It is serious that Overton County elect new people, with an education,(the days of the good ol boys are over)

Making shirts or furiture is over ,these children today will be doing high tect things if they get an education, and a new building is not going to help with any education,

And then once the children have a good education maybe a company will want to come here and pay very well.

Look at Oak Ridge ,Tn.over 90% of the children there go on to make high paying jobs, with real test scores and they are not taking remedial clases when they attend college, then look at the way that county teaches the children in that county, sure isn't like it is here in Overton County..

They get teachers away from Tenn.Tech to teach children, here in Overton County if you are not in a certain family and came from TTU you won't or can't get a job here inside the school system.

It is a shame what has happen to many children here in Overton County because of the teachers that teach here..

I know it's online, and this will do absolutely no good but i'd like to see just how many people feel the same way i feel.
Livingston needs something more than churches, banks, grocery stores, and fast food resturants.
Elected officials need to give Livingston something to do.
When i was little we had the bowling alley on Jamestown highway, The Twin Cinema, and The teen center. Now we have absolutely nothing...
What happened?
If you feel the same way I do.
Comment.
Maybe someone will see this and see that the city of Livingston is rapidly becoming a boring eyesore and that everyone has to travel 18 miles to do anything for entertainment other than get drunk, high, or ride around.
Thanks,
Joseph White

I do not think anything that the city or county have to pour alot of money into will work.

I think a once a month or bi-monthly concert at the community center would totally suffice. It would give kids something to look forward to, and parents a reason to either reward their kids for good behavior or to punish them by not letting them go.

There would have to be chaperones there to keep an eye on everything but you can always find nice people who just wanna help the kids.

This all comes down to whoever controls the evins comm center. It's just sitting there, rotting away, why not do something for the kids, it wouldn't cost that much, and it would help the local economy by having more people around in town on say a saturday night.

I personally volunteer to book bands, and arrange the sound system and handle everything except dealing with whoever runs the center, i've tried that, it was a dead end for me.

Thanks,
Sincerely,
Joseph White

Hey there Joey. We here you. When we first started brainstorming on this idea of the outdoor adventure park, having live bands to perform was definitely in the plans. Don't give up hope of something happening that will allow bands to showcase their talent. We're not! We understand the importance of music in the lives of teens and hopefully others will also.

I think you had a great idea - adventure park or no park..
at least its something !
good luck in winning over the mayor and the aldermen to rent it.
you would think they own it !

Daily Horoscope for December 28

Scorpio

The thought of the sales is almost too good to resist today, and you'll jump at the chance to see what's on offer. Even better if you can snap up some bargains at the same time. It's certainly a good day for investing your money carefully, but make sure you aren't more seduced by the reduction in the cost of something than in the item itself. Are you certain that you want to buy it?
