New York Mayor Rrepublican Michael Bloomberg on Sunday challenged President Barack Obama to take
charge of imposing stricter gun-control laws in the United States following the
horrific shootings of 20 children and six adults at a Connecticut schoolhouse.

“It’s time for the president, I think, to stand up and lead and tell this country
what we should do, not go to Congress and say what you guys want to do,” Bloomberg
said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”“This should be his No. 1 agenda.”

The staunch gun-control advocate, whose state’s gun restrictions are among the
toughest in the country, said if Obama does not act, an estimated 48,000 Americans
will die next year at the trigger of illegally possessed guns.

Bloomberg is not a republican, he claims he's an independent, more like a gun seizing socialist. He can't stand our constitution. Too many rights.

By your logic no one needs a car that can go faster than 70mph, its not a question if needed its a question of law abiding citizens having their freedoms stripped. BTW outside of a drum attached to a weapon you will not shoot 90 shots, its that type of general term from people that have 0 clue what they are talking about that drives rhetoric.

This should not be the Pres or congress's top issue as Doomberg put it. The economy and avoiding the collapse of it should be.

I don't give a damned about shooting a deer 90 times. One usually works fo me. But I want the same fire power some thug has or some damned radical musleum has to defend my family and my property. Our constitution was written when all they had was a muzzle loader. Same as the the Brits they were fighting with. If they had of used AR-15's it still would have been the same. Besides, 5 rounds is all that is allowed for semi automatic weapons for hunting. You need to use common sense. If you are fine giving up your rights, please don't impose your radical views on the rest of us.

Apparently you don't watch it either. You can't put a drum on a 9 mm pistol. The bushmaster rifle was in the trunk of the car and never used.
Update: The bushmaster rifle was found in the trunk of the shooter's car. The Sig Sauer and Glock pistols were the only weapons used in the shooting,

The second Amendment is not about hunting. Disarming the populace has been a trademark of tyrannical governments throughout history. Politicizing this crime before these poor families can even bury the victims is downright shameful as far as I am concerned.

The reason Japan didn't move on our mainland after Pearl Harbor was because of an armed populace.

Read the truth now, will not be in print long. The antigunners are starting a twist to the rifle being used not the hand guns. Now they have came up with a shotgun in the car. BTW you can put a drum on a 9 mm. been done for many years. Not the point here.

Speaking of one vision you are the one that made the blanket statement about guns and hunting. I use your example on another machine that causes death and injury when used improperly and i am changing the subject? I am just applying your failed logic to an item the is made as a tool. I do see you yelling for car bans.

Our founding fathers also believed if a person was ill cutting and "bleeding" was a cure. Bet george washington would disagree. The point is that our culture and tech. has changed over the past 200 years so we should adapt and change. Muskets are fine but no more murderous assault weapons please.

A firearm is a cold piece of steel until a human picks it up. Not murderous until a criminal uses it to murder.

Texas School District Encourages Armed Teachers For Protection
HARROLD, Texas (CBS)-- There's at least one school that welcome firearms to class.

It believes nothing makes a school safer than teachers who are armed,

The Harrold Independent School District is one building with 103 students. It's 20 minutes away from the nearest sheriff's station. Superintendent David Thweatt created what he calls a "guardian plan" after the attack at Virginia Tech.

"These people that go in and do these horrible acts, they're evil. But they're not that crazy -- they always know where they are going to get resistance," Thweatt said.

Teachers and administrators here carry concealed handguns. They won't say how many faculty members are armed. They get extra training, but the district would not give us details.

Some people are horrified when he starts talking about putting guns in schools with children, but Thweatt said it's important to be safe.

"Sure, but it's a pretty horrific thing that happened the other day." Thweatt said. "And quite a few people are not horrified. Quite a few people we have in our district, since we have a high-transfer district, people bring their students to us for that protection."

Texas law allows concealed weapons in schools with a district's permission. Harrold was the first district to do it. A similar proposal was vetoed by Michigan's governor Tuesday.

Thweatt says allowing the firearms into the school will dissuade anyone who wants to hurt the kids.

"That's the bottom line," he said.

Since the shootings in Connecticut, Superintendent Thweatt has gotten calls from districts around the state and as far away as Missouri from school administrators asking whether they might be able to implement similar plans.

Finally a plan that works and mkes sense.

The bushmaster didnt fire all those shots by itself, it was the mentally ill guy firing the shots. dont blame the guns they dont shoot people. people shoot people.
