Hutchinsons has done it again, they have fired and had a new staffing service come in again and got rid of many many employees yes i was one of them they do this about every 6 months yes i am pissed cause of the false termination of us all. So my question is what can we do to stop this company fr. firing its employees to save a dollar?

Unfortunately TN is an at will state so they can terminate your employment. Did you ever clock out for lunch and your lunch was interrupted with work that was unpaid time. Did you clock in early and they changed your time or did your work off the clock so they didn't have to pay you overtime? If any of those things happened contact the Dept of Labor and they will send auditors in and you could possibly be owed back pay. Otherwise there's not much you can do unless you were descriminated against. As long as there are temps to fill jobs they will continue to do this so they can cheat you out of your benefits.

Do you not know what they did to the full time employees who worked there and got laid off so they could be replaced by temps. this is Hutchinson thats the way they do business so get over it im sure the full time didn't like it when it happen to them thats the hutchinson way there always thinking of ways to screw the employees.

how many did they get this time ?they got rid of a friend of mine temp serviced called an would not give a reason to why!old one did they give you a reason why an how long had you worked there!which plant an which department did you work in?hutchinson does not want good workers they want people who half a%% do their jobs an show up when they feel like it!they want people who keep their mouths shut an dont give them the truth cause they dont want to no whats going on in that place!

well to Get Real and to wolf yall go get screwed and its sad but i hope you lose your jobs you sorry Ass f,s and to hot i was there 7 months did keep my mouth shut till a machine tried to cut my finger off and they told me to shut up and do it any way i told my supeviser he said the same thing, also i worked 2nd shift done my job well i missed only for emergencies and was only twice they need the news on them to find out why they are allowed to fire employees for no reason whether it is a right to work state only the people can change this to bad i stand alone on this and they fired me cause they said i feld a 40 question test wich is stupid cause there isnt anyway to score it its just a fail safe for them that is all done checked into it sorry for your friends i have a bunch that lost to they got rid of over 30 that i know of........

With fewer and fewer jobs being available in the area, companies will become more selective with whom they keep. There are some great workers out there right now, looking for work and companies know this. The day and age of the "Flunky" being hired and having a job for 5 years is just about over. Too many good people to pick through to get the best workers for any available job anymore.
My advice to those that are looking for jobs, is to make youself as valuable as possible. Learn new things, improve on the things you know how to do now. I am not talking about more education, but I am talking about lerning to be flexable and ultra-productive. You can research and learn valuable skills at home on the computer in the evening when you get home. I know you have time to brush up on skills, cause you have time to gossip and belly-ache on forums like this one. Remember, when it comes to potential employees, it really is a buyer's market!

Problem is unskilled labor is a dime a dozen. Cant compete with chinese and african dudes. if you want a better job, get a better education. college educated workers have a very low unemploy rate.

Very few college level jobs in Livingston, you are better off learning jobskills ad/or trade.

you lost your job. That's tough, I know. I'm also sorry that getting the news on them won't help one bit, as they haven't done anything illegal. They can fire you for any reason they want, as long as they don't discriminate against you because of a few, specific reasons. They can fire you because they don't like the shirt you are wearing, and it isn't illegal. Is it the right thing to do? No. But it is legal. It's a shame so many have lost their jobs.

i agree i feel so much better since i know longer work there, was laid-off in 09 with a lot of other good people. go cry where someone cares.

In my opinon i think everyone should go on strike against that place work together to make something so things like this wont happen to other people who work there. My husband lost his job there and from what I hear its just going to keep happening tillsomeone does somethnig about it.

O SHE IS FINE SHE CAME IN TO WORK !LORI IS ALOT BETTER OFF THAN THE REST OF US WHO RISK OUR LIVES AN OUR OWN VEHICLES DONT WORRY ABOUT HER SHE WAS DRIVING A COMPANY VEHICLE !IF I WAS DRIVING SOMEONE ELSES VEHICLE AND MAKING OVER 120 THOU I WOULD HAVE TOOK MY END TO WORK TOO!

would'nt surprise me!!!!!!! If they fire you for not being able to get to work because of the snow an ice!!!!!! Yes, They did !!!!!! Some dude that worked on the inline could'nt get to work(they did not call it a snow day) an so on so he pointed out! Nice bunch of people in the management department!!!!! What do you think?
