I heard from a relative that the old Central House was just sold and it sounds like decendants from a former owner are the one's who made the purchase. Does anyone know if they intend to restore the Central House as an operating Inn???? My curiousity stems from the fact that my grandfather (Bob Dixon) once owned and operated the Central House during the '50's ... following his passing in '59, my parents continued operation for a short time before selling the property. My parents, and grandparents, are originally from Hudson -- with relatives still in Hudson, we tend to visit a couple times a year. On such trips, we've often driven down to Germantown in hopes that some sort of restoration would be taking place at the Central House ... we're hoping that is the case upcoming --> does anyone have any information on the subject??

i believe it is being made into a bed and breakfast. People have been working on it and have cleard all the trees and overgrowth around it.

When I was a kid the Central House Livery Stable building had lettering still visible from when horses were kept there.

Initially there was a flurry of activity as the new owners themselves started clearing the rubbish and shoring up ht ebuilding. That slacked off after a couple of weeks and there was about 6 months of inactivity. Recently there's been a crew of Mexican workers there almost every day. We're optimistically hoping that a Central House and the sidewalk project will revitalize the village. Right now all the storefronts with the exception of the liquor store and flower shop are empty.

Greetings!

I am a clergy member of the religious organization, the Maetreum of Cybele, Magna Mater, that owns Central House in Palenville. We operate it as an abbey for our clergy and as a place of worship. We are an incorporated, 501(c)3 organization.

In the past, we have used the property as emergency housing for women in need and soon we hope to open up a pottery. We are holding meetings and classes for those interested in goddess religion. Our web address is www.gallae.com .

not sure I understand ... for lease?? now that construction sounds complete, you are not planning to run it yourself, but rather look for someone else to do so -- is that correct??

Daily Horoscope for November 29

Cancer

If you've been troubled lately, now's the time to seek a friend's counsel. Even just a little tea and sympathy will be nice, so plan to have lunch with someone simpatico. Everyone needs to spend a little time with someone who won't judge them; Cancer is often wonderful at giving this sort of unconditional affection but often has a harder time seeking it out. Accept a little TLC... you need it now.
