More inmates than beds in Livingston Parish

Why don't they hire more public defender's to represent some of the defendants and process the cases to move some of the inmates into the state prisons, and quit holding state inmates just for the money. Open up the old parish jail for the work release programs and clea up space for the hard core criminals. Use court time to actually get things accomplished.
