Traffic camera proposal

What a discrace to even have our council thinking about this. Being originally from Denham Springs I find disgust in the fact that our fine community could be going from a nice aera to a police state of cameras.
First the Officer Discretion is taken out of the equation all togther. Their could be a legitimate reson to be speeding on the way to the hospital or emergancy and you still get binged for the ticket where a real living officer could show you the courtesy.
Not to mention if you read Louisiana Rivised Statute 32:365 from the Louisiana Law Book you will see the last two sentances state that a law officer can use a camera in commission of his job but not to send a citation at a later date for a traffic offinse.
So because some company has come in town telling the council how much money Denham could make they are not worried about being sued due to it would fall on the shoulders of the city, well not the City the Police Department.

Unmanned Cameras for purposes of mailing Citations, violate both State Law, and The Constitution, which grants the right of an individual to face their accuser.
These cameras have been ruled unconstitutional all over the country, yet city after city installs them, at taxpayer expense, to collect as much revenue as possible before it gets ruled unconstitutional in their case.
