Nice Story. One word of caution. Be very careful when hiring someone who calls themselves an "interior designer" or "John Doe Design" Anyone can hang a sign out can call themselves a designer. The fact that you've dabbled by picking out tile for your bathroom or helping a friend with their kitchen doesn't make you a qualified professional. ASK to see their ASID credentials or even better, their Architecture License. Make sure you are dealing with someone who is licensed. It is unfortunate that SO many people are popping up as "designers". The bad ones sure make it hard on the true pros, and ultimately the clients who have been burned. I've seen it time and time again.
I'm not saying the women in the story are unqualified. The party mentioned has a masters in architecture and has paired up with a very good firm. I'm simply astounded unqualified people who have perhaps remodeled their kitchen and /or helped a friend pick some colors are suddenly a "designer". Buyer Beware.
