Maybe if he lived in a real city, he would have had that fake gangsta crap beat out of him before reaching his mid-30s.

35 years old, thinking your in a gang.

The gangs in Greeley are the real thing...straight from Mexico. Just because its a smalltown doesnt mean they are fake. I worked for a non profit up there in the north side of town and every kid above 14 was in a gang and all the parents had some affiliation as well. Really sad, but hard to break old habits I guess.

FTA:
"This is something that's been building for some time. Frankly, I'm surprised it took so long," Alderden said. "We foresaw this a year-and-a-half ago."

Ugh. This sounds suspiciously like, "Gang member tries to make good, gang executes him for being a defector."

Sorry man. RIP.

To all the gangster haters who are sure to come along: You probably do not know what it's like. Lots of kids grow up with no future, no apparent hope. The gang comes along and offers money, girls, cars, drugs... that's hard to resist. Once entangled, it's difficult to leave. They kill defectors.

Seems to me like being in a gang is a dead end situation. It must be hard to stay out of gangs if your in that lifestyle. But being in a gang will probably lead you to prison where your going to be someone's significant other or dead. Apparently that isn't enough for parents to teach their kids to not join gangs. Maybe we need more deaths and prison and people will learn. Just leave me out of the murders and leave it in their turf

Yessir, wooo hooo (ma'am?). But who's lifestyle ISN'T money, girls, cars,(and in some cases) drugs? That's why it's so seductive; it's the American dream wrapped up in a bindle.

Oh nuts! I forgot to say, "leave it in their turf"?

Their turf is your neighborhood. They are everywhere. Be vigilant, please.

This is MY neighborhood. The guy who was killed was a known gang member with a prison record. He was identified by his fingerprints and prison tattoos. I live here. I drop my daughter off at CLP Junior High every morning. Take your gang-banging mentality elsewhere, maybe back to Mexico. This community will not stand for thugs from across the southern border, or Greeley, or Mexico coming here and destroying our community. Be on watch. The PROPERTY-OWNING, TAXPAYING, RESIDENTS of Laporte and bellvue/Rist Canyon are watching.

There are plenty of gangs that were founded in the U.S. Please leave your racist views out of this.

Since you specifically exclude Mexico from "south of the border" might I assume you mean the Ft. Collins/La Porte border? Or would that be Greely?

Lets face it, gangs are everywhere. Git yer gun, much as I have got mine.

You can't just watch, you have to do. I'm sure they're not afraid of you or what the taxpaying residents are watching. Ever been to Skidmore, Missouri? http://www.lewrockwell.com/anderson/anderson6...

Well, that came out wrong, I'm not suggesting that this is the answer. Only that people get tired of having their sleepy little communities run by bullies.

I'm kind of offended...... I have lived in this town (LaPorte) my ENTIRE life! Just cause I am not a PROPERTY-OWNER doesn't mean I'm not on watch....My parents, as well as thier parents are/were natives of Laporte as well.

To get at the "root" of the "weed" problem you should use "roundup" like maybe at the border.

"Larimer County Sheriff Jim Alderden announced that the stabbing victim in the shooting who has been hospitalized at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland is 34-year-old Pedro Mercado".

There's a paragraph for ya. Who shot the stabbing victim? Or did they stab the....nevermind.
