Even if my dealership fails, my hubby makes lots of $$ shining up the brass poles at the Fremont fire house. You guys didn't really think the little pipsqueak actually put out fires, did you? The only fire he ever put out was his hemorrhoids and even that took 3 cases of preparation h. And as far as him being the man of the house, just remember 1 thing: I have the tits AND the balls in this family and yes they're all the same size.

That's a good question. I was going to address that last Thursday, but I was so cranked out that I forgot.

The "pig" I was referring to was that useless parts manager. You see, he always had his nose shoved up my & my genius brother's ass that his nose eventually rolled back into a snout. I came upon this letter which in my opinion is the most honest assesment of what has happened at Groth Bros. It is long but worth reading:
"I retired from Groth Bros. Chevrolet after 30 years. It saddens me to see what has happened at the dealership and how Robin and Rick Groth are making the union their scapegoats for all the financial woes of the dealership.
I worked for their dad, uncle, cousin and through the take-over when Bill Groth's widow turned over her ownership to her son and they booted out Robin for a few years until a lot of money got her back in control. In all that time, Groth Bros. was a union shop and we always survived. Even during the previous recession, Robin's dad would always find a way to keep us going.
Through the years, when we would get our raises, we would vote to split the raise and put 50% into our pension fund for the future. That is why the amount was so high. By deciding not to pay the pension, Robin gave the employees a big pay cut and could care less. Her decision not to pay their medical just puts the knife in even deeper. I am sure she is still paying the medical on her female employees. Robin and Rick Groth should look in the mirror and realize that the main cause of the financial hardship is their own lack of ownership knowledge and management skills. It's too easy to blame someone else. Rick has never worked for anyone else and Robin never lasted long at any job while she was exiled from the dealership. Neither knows what it is like to be a real employee and not an employer. My advice to the remaining union employees at Groth Bros. is to move on and find a better place of employment. Groth Bros. wil never be the place it used to be. The dealership that was a great place to work was gone years ago.
I am thankful that, because of the union, I was able to retire after 30 years of employment and do not have to deal with all the turmoil. The best of luck to all of my old union friends back at the dealership"

This letter appeared approx. one week prior to Groth Bros. being shut down by bancrupcy trustee. As I stated earlier, from my experience of working for Groth Bros. 15 years, I find it to be an honest assesment of what has and will continue to occur at Groth Bros.,Groth Chevrolet or whatever name the current loan sharks will allow her 30% interests to conjur up.
In any event, we can all agree that a GREAT LEGACY has been brought to a GREEDY end!
I stand and salute Dick, Bill and Billy Groth for teaching us all that a REAL FAMILY business is worth working for.

Its a shame. The brothers probably worked and scraped and suffered along the way to make things work and build that place to what it was. They probably didn't go on big vacations, and buy huge houses and all the BS that goes with being a yuppie. It was hard work, save your money, reinvest and take care of those who work for you. Now its just about getting that money so you can have the bigger house, and pool, and club membership...
All for what, now a viable business is out, employees are out of work,city does get its tax revenue and suppliers are out of a revenue stream and owed money, and it all goes down the tube.
Now you want a Chevy, you go down the road and buy a Chevy from the gooney-goo-goo who could care less about America...
Live within your means, mean what you say and say what you mean.

Seems we shared some time at groth Bros i to was around at the time Billy Dick and Robin fight .
I know of one epmlyee who was in the Hospital when she stop paying the helth insurance if u can believe it He was not eh only one that happened to i'm sure .It takes me back to happer days reading your comments. Before Robin u would have to agree Groth Bro was a much better place to work .She never understood that the value of your emplyees.
It was the hard work of the lomgtime empoyee that made Groth what it was and # 1 with the costmers remember thoses days? Maybe thats why Dick had all the BBQ'a for us and the custmers we all worked hard for Dick Groth its sad he had to choose one of his kids to take over niether one was up to the job and thats just a crying shame they let her take down Groth Bros Dick didn't teach her how to make any money just spend it .I feel bad for him most now all his hard work down the drane.Letting Billy Groth get away wasn't smart either he was the last one with any car brains left there and they put her in charge i heard he made out pretty good before he got out good for him .Who knows mybe there will be a Chevy dealar in Livermore again .

Have to agree with Bill X's feelings here. Bashing Robin is easy (and she does deserve it) but we should all be remembering how Dick ran the business and what a great place it was to work and to shop. Groth Bros hasn't been Groth Bros for many years anyway 'bout time the empty shell went away.

I hope that Dick's health is holding up through this. Too bad he had to see his kids suck the place dry.
