Can anyone tell me what is going on with LYSL? I see my fees skyrocking for my kid to play 'hi comp" or premier league, whatever they want to call it now. I get the fact they want to have a more professional program like Pleasanton, but charging $1500 up front is supposed to immediately be
like them? Seems so drastic to me and the got rid of some of their best coaches. Anyone have some insight on what is really going on?

LYSL is a joke. It has been for YEARS! It's basically a feeder club for the real clubs like Mustang and Rage. Dayak has no real presence yet tries to rule things like a dictator. Notice there are basically NO div. 1 teams above 14 for girls???????

I did hear that about the older divisions that if you wanted a good team you did have to leave as no good colleges would even look at Livermore players since they are not gold or something like that. My daughter is young still so I am just in shock that I am paying so much for her to just play soccer! I'm not thinking my daughter will stick with it to keep playing when she is older, but with this investment she might have too!

The league was better 20-some odd years ago when even in the "high comp" level the coaches were volunteers and everyone had to try out and made it based on their skill, not if they could pay. I knew kids from school back then that played at that level and were great players, and they didn't need a professional coach to make them that way. I just recently pulled my child out of the premier program. It only took a couple months to get a bad taste in my mouth with it all. The high-comp parents are also a piece of work. I didn't see the "teamwork" message coming from some of the parents - they were only concerned with how their kid was doing. It's really difficult to try to instill the "teamwork" message when certain parents don't do the same.

I really understand what everyone is saying, yes prices have been really bad. However we are paying for a IMAGE! LMAO until it hits the bank...Love that we are all paying for new uniforms and really troy dayak can suck on the colors as well as the parents who licked his butt during the decision to get new uniforms. As for coaches well most love what they do and really want these kids to have fun and learn. As for the parents, well its our fault for even falling for this nose up in the air image. Teamwork starts with a team and in high comp all the kids are either placed on different teams every year or the economy takes a shit and parents can not afford it. Soooooo LYSL said "screw all of Livermore residents with children barely surviving. We want to live our lives through these families because we will look real good". Basically us parents need to stand up for what is right. I wish LYSL would explain why we are paying so damn much for our kids to loose self esteem because their "TEAM" sucks, or become assholes because they are just like Troy, his puppets and like every ignorant person who voted or agreed to be taken advantage of. Troy is banking off of the parents of Livermore soccer players, has been and will never give a shit about it. Any more questions?

I coached when LYSL was run on 100% volunteer basis and we had the toughest and best teams in the East Bay. We also held our own with So.Cal teams. LYSL went to the high priced trainer and paid coaching program around 2001 and the whole program has since gone into the toilet due to selfishness of a few individuals, the likes of Troy Dayak. Only the rich kiddies can afford to be part of LYSL now. Some of the best talent are the poor, hungry, tougher kids who don't have enough $$$ to throw at a club run by selfish fools. These kids were also trainable and looked up to the coach. Glad my kids are done with LYSL. We left it when it went high cost, but stayed in soccer and played for San Ramon, Fremont, and Ballistic. We also avoided the cost of these other clubs by obtaining sponsors. Good luck with LYSL but I would advise to spend your money elsewhere. Go buy a boat - much more fun for everyone in the family. Tell Dayak to stuff it.

I agree with all of the above. Back when Cory (who was CLUELESS!) got to hire Troy because she fed into his "I'm the greatest player to every step on the field" self image she ruined it for everyone. Troy had used and abused this league. He made it all about himself. He used the database to market "his" camps to players, ripped off our money by selling the league unforms out of "his" store and basically made the website all about him and how great he "was". I too am sick and tired of him running this thing into the ground meanwhile all the good players bail over to Rage, Balastic and Mustang. The older teams are a joke. Basicaly if you play in LYSL over U15 then your kid will get harrassed becuase their team does suck. They are a joke and the poor parents have to pay all this money to have their kids be on these sucky teams and feel embarrassed to lose every game. Funny thing though, did anyone notice that Troy now trains one team? Of course it is his own daughters team! Talk about self serving. We are paying him to coach his own daughter. Parents, have your say! I dont' know when Troy's contract is up, but we need to get him out of this league and get someone who can really get our kids some skills!

I am all in on taking a stand for what is RIGHT. I have lived in Livermore for 11 years and my kids will continue to play sports but as long as Troy is in charge or even has a say I feel it would be better to go play soccer in another city. This will be a tough battle since there are a lot of people here that feel money buys talent. Have any of these idiot adults even thought that someone lied to them...Hellllllo! What they need to do is "PAY Attention" LMAO! I truly am surprised that there are more people who feel that LYSL sucks now even more than before. Its about time. I am going to keep brainstorming and think about how we Livermore parents can help save LYSL high comp program, because in a few years if nothing changes then our children will be kicking their neighbors asses while playing for another league, That can not be good for friendships. And this last thing goes out to all those who agree with Troy and his followers,(I do not know who lied to you but step outside your golden box and live in realit, rich or poor every kid with the skill to compete deserves to have a league that does not DISCRIMINATE!!!

You know how the parents can take control of the high-comp program? Take advantage of the CYSA coaching classes offered by the league, and use those to get in as volunteer coaches for the high-comp program. Go to board meetings and express your displeasure at the program and the cost. If the kids who played high-comp back in the good old days (most of whom now have kids coming up and playing soccer) took over and showed the league that they can coach these kids and give them the training they need, but not ask for payment in return, it will show the league that they don't need paid trainers.

I'm working on doing this, but it takes everyone to do something and not just complain about it.

The parents already have. Troy Dayak is a parent. Most are. So now, do you think that those parents who are all sticking together going to let someone with a smaller bank account join there "CLUB"? This situation has made me sick. I think Troy and his people should take some of their earnings and apply it to uniforms, or traveling, or a life for themselves that does not consist of filling their pockets with OUR money. Good for them for what they have done but at what cost? Our's!!!!!!!!!! And not all coaches are paid. Let me ask you a question, At what age do you feel your child should see a sport psychologist? Its mandatory in this program and its not free. My point is WTF!!!Who in their right mind... Oh Yeah Troy and his followers are so right, all the time, and have done a real good job brainwashing the community of this. As my kids would say "WOW"!!!!!!!!!! Hows that for a complaint. I would put my money where my mouth is however my money is in Fusion SC. for those who do not know what that is its our new league name. Again I am doing whats best for my child and for myself well I do not need to eat for the rest of this year, I will fill up with the joy of watching my child play soccer. ;)

I hear what you are all saying and for the most part I agree with you, the program is so expensive this year compared to past years. However, I have a daughter that has played thru the years and now another younger daugher who is coming up thru the program. The difference here is that FUSION is really trying to make these changes to get in the game to compete with our other local clubs. Face it, LYSL was the joke of the valley. In the past all the good players left for those clubs if they wanted to be on a good team. Only the kids that stayed here either couldn't make those teams or were not that serious about playing. There are NO boys teams above U14 even mentioning. The girls teams above U15 are a complete joke and they lose all the time. I know as my older daughter played on one of them becuase she wasnt' really that into soccer but had fun at it so she stayed here. That was two years ago when that trampy coach Vanessa was still a coach and all my daughter learned was about sex from watching this coach and her boyfriend get it on during practice. She quit after that. What is the fun in playing, getting your ass kicked every game and nobody having fun? So the changes being made are necessary. Expensive, but in the long run I think it will be for the best. Now, Dayak, not too sure about him. I sometimes get these eamils he sends saying how great he used to be. Last week he sent something about his former teammates playing in the World Cup and I had to laugh. He is living a has been life. He's a joke.
