So a man was stabbed to death over by north Livermore & walnut. Anyone have any details? Thoughts? have the cops made an arrest will they figure this out. Was this man killed for love/lust/money/drunken fight? Or was it some stupid ass gangbanger punk? Is this going to become more common in Livermore?

According to the Livermore Police website a 35 year old hispanic man was found on the sidewalk with a stab wound to the chest. The person who called in said that the man was in a fight. At this time they are asking for the publics help.

It happened just around the corner of my house. I heard rumors it was gang related. Saturday & sunday I've seen a crowd of mostly Mexicans gathering outside by the parking lot of the apartment complex. As far as I know they're trying to gather money to send the body to his family in Mexico. The truth about this info is unknown. Like I said, I heard through some neighbors. I can't wait to move away from this area.:|

One at a time is an awful slow way to rid the city of pretend gangbangers.

I know a friend of the man who was stabbed. He said the Man was accosted while walking home by gang members after getting off of work. They asked for money, he had little or none so then they stabbed him.

This is horrendous!

People in Livermore need to realize that there is a bigger gang problem in Livermore that they realize. Ask any police officer in town. They know, and we as citizens need to do what we can to help reduce this problem. It will only lead to increased violence in our community!

Greg, how does your freind of the dead man know all of these details? Did he get to speak to the man or the police regarding the incident during the fight for his life? Did the authorities call his freind or family first? Did the police decide to release all details of the crime to this freind to help solve the crime and then this friend immediately called you to give you the scoop? I know a guy who walks the dog of a freind who was once on a softball team with another guy who lives in the same neighborhood as Greg and he says Greg is full of it.

Actually I can confirm Greg's post. I live on Walnut where this happened and the police spoke to us and a few of our neighbors and asked us if we saw anything, or if we know of any gang activity in the area. RIP.

If it is truly the case of an innocent man walking home from work and getting killed by gang assholes, then it is a tradgedy and anyone with any info needs to step up and help convict the sissies who committed the crime and my thoughts go out to the family. I guess that being the skeptic that I am, I find it difficult to believe that this was a random attack that ended in death and involved gang members and a completely innocent victim. I hope it is not random as I just assume the pretend gang morons kill each other off. In most cases when the public outrage is low and the witnesses are scarce, it is usually not a random act of violent crime.

Only three weeks ago my sons friends were robbed and brutally attacked by a gang of boys in the neighborhood surrounding Granada High School. They were walking and night to the house were my son was staying. They were random victims and did not know their attackers. The police believe the robbers/attackers were from out of the area. The robbers got away with nothing more than a phone and cash, but injured one of the boys so badly he was in the ICU as a result. Acts of violence of this sort do happen to innocent citizens. All a criminal needs is convenience, bad blood between gangsters is not always a motivator.

So how do we get involved and help? Does anyone have any specific ideas as to what can be done?

I, too, am always skeptical of these posts. The so called "randomness" is what concerns me. I do plenty of work around Livermore late in the evenings in the worst areas everyone here complains about. I've seen all the hoods I care to see, bunt no one has ever confronted me and I'm carrying expensive tools, etc.

I'm sure there was probably a confrontation, yet the details of the story are always so vague. Someone "jumps" you and starts talking shit, you're gonna do the same back. That's when things start to escalate.

Livermore Mom, I'm sorry your kid got his ass kicked, but I'm sure he didn't give you all the details of what happened. I remember when I was a teenager and sometimes my mouth wrote checks it couldn't cash!

Scott, what did you tell the police? Have you seen gang activity? Did you think about and report every detail that you could recall? Have you seen groups of kids hanging out together or new graffiti in your neighborhood? Did you think the police were doing a good, thorough job at trying to solve the crime?
Just curious...

Livermore Mom, your son's freinds were attacked? The perps were from out of town? That's it? Nothing else from the police? Your son's freinds were just walking around at night mindning their own business and got robbed? The robbers were hoping that the your son's freinds were carrying vast amounts of cash and Rolex watches? Good thing that your good son wasn't with them that night! I don't recall any story in the news regarding this violent crime in Livermore so close to a high school involving young kids. Crooks don't usually waste their time with youngsters as their risk is way too high for the potential reward. I think Local is right...some shit talking or posturing up probably started a fist fight, that is what we called them when I was a high schooler, and someone lost their wallet and phone. Someone also got their ass kicked pretty bad. Perhaps the scuffle didn't make the news because it was just a scuffle with one kid getting a bad break. Or, it didn't happen...

Either way, report crime...any crime...new vandalism...gang activity...groups of kids hanging out at odd hours in odd places...intimidation tactics...report it, don't ignore it!!

When I was a freshman in High School a kid in my class was murdered over by Trader Joes (Was K-Mart) then when I was a senior several cars circles LHS and we were all told to get inside because they were kids from a rival school and they had rifles. This is not the sweet innocent town most people think it is. Every town has problems but we do need to wake up and pay attention to our surroundings. If you see anything or even have a gut instinct contact the police. I reported a man lurking not too long ago and the cops caught him because he was a child molester on the lurk. So please go with your gut instinct. Be safe and take care.

This is sad, but stuff like this happening in Livermore is not a suprise to me one bit.

Scott, I trust your communication to the authorities, so you shouldn't bother answering "liverore person's" dubious questions to you. He's fishing for some personal validation regarding Livermore.

Condolences to the victom. Seems like a regular Joe going home from a job.

It happens everywhere Livermore happens to be very safe so when ONE thing happens some morons act like, oh my gosh, livermore is like Oakland. Come on now. recently a teenage boy was murdered on his porch in front of his home in Danville, remember?

Look, the street where this guy was murdered is my daily route. The following two evenings after the murder I saw a crowd of people (mostly men) standing outside the victims apartment, by the parking lot. I don't want to sound "discriminative" here but rather give more details to everyone, but by what I can perceive from what these people wore I am POSITIVE this man (the dead) did NOT have any involvement with gangs whatsoever! The men standing outside at the memorial were clean look people looking pretty Mexican to me, wearing their hats & boots, working class type, family type with their children running around, most of them around their 30s or so. To me is obvious this WAS a random attack! A vicious act of nothing but low life bacterias that need to be eliminated with no mercy ASAP! Given the situation I will be more aware of my surroundings at ANYTIME because if this happened so early in the evening, it can happen at broad daylight folks. Like someone else said above, Livemore gang problem is more serious than wat many of us think. Don't be fooled by the "nice country feeling town" fame. This is a "sleeping giant" with many social problems no worse than Oakland.

My condolences to the family of the victim. I have heard several stories regarding the insident. But what ever the truth is, no one deserves to die that way. I heard that the victim has his family in mexico and close family members are collecting money to send him back.
