I under the new LED lights were just hung along first street in the trees. Don't think they are used for illuminating anything other than that.

Livermore Downtown
April 10
For a few years now, we have been pursuing a tree light program for the First Street pedestrian area that would really light up that night for all of you as your stroll the streets on your way to dinner, an evening out, theater, whatever it is that has you spending time in downtown. In partnership with the City of Livermore, we are thrilled to be in test mode with that right now with LED strands! There are 5 locations lit up as of yesterday and we would like your opinion on this project.

We have three trees lit up.(We are utilizing the trees that have power access in the parking stall area.) We also have two trellis's lit up.(Some think that might be better than the trees). Let us know what you think! Email us at [email protected]

We are working to have a funding plan that will keep this out of City Budgets so we will be announcing sponsorship plans soon. Opportunities for local businesses, families and individuals to help bring light to downtown Livermore!

Take a stroll after sundown this week and join the input team! We look forward to hearing from you.

Like I said in my post yesterday. I got another email from Dan at the city. This is what he said after I sent another letter to everyone involved. Dan said "The operator of the leased Springtown Golf Course, Sycamore Landscaping, has advised us that they are going to supply potable water to the pond tomorrow (Friday). The use of potable water is only a very short-term, temporary measure, because of the prohibitive cost of potable water compared to the normal raw water supply.

For point of comparison, the cost for using raw water over the course of a year is about $10,000, but the cost to use potable water on a permanent basis is $100,000 per year (plus a one-time connection fee of $600,000). Given that the revenue at Springtown Golf Course is only $400,000 a year, there is simply no conceivable way that the golf course could be permanently irrigated with potable water. Thus, on a permanent basis, the Springtown Golf Course will continue to be irrigated with raw water.

With regard to the affordable raw water supply, the fourth and final agency permit was received on April 25th. Sycamore Landscaping installed their diversion structure on Monday, April 29th. Unfortunately, the diversion structure is leaking, and as I understand it they were only able to impound a small amount of raw water on Monday. Sycamore Landscaping is working on a diversion structure repair, and hopefully they will have a workable, reliable raw water supply for the rest of the warm season – through October 15th.

I am reminding Sycamore Landscaping daily of their obligation to keep the Bluebell Drive pond full.

I want to assure you that there was NO City action that contributed to a delay in obtaining the permits for the diversion structure (which ideally would have been permitted and installed back on April 15th). If Sycamore Landscaping made reference to vacations interfering with permit issuance, then they must be referring to vacations taken by the staff of the permitting agencies, not vacations by Livermore staff. If so, those vacations by staff from the permitting agencies might have contributed to a delay in permit issuance until April 25th. If Sycamore Landscaping did in fact tell you that “Livermore staff vacations contributed to permit delays”, please let me know so that I can address such misstatement directly with them.

Lastly, to address an additional issue you’ve raised, the Bluebell Drive pond has always been considered a part of the Springtown Golf Course since the 1970’s. The maintenance and operation of the pond has always been addressed as part of the maintenance operation of the Springtown Golf Course, and was included as part of the ten year lease with Sycamore Landscaping that was approved in 2009. The operation and maintenance of the pond is Sycamore Landscaping’s obligation for the remaining years of their long-term lease."

Ok,
Well since it is Sycamore Landscapings responsibility [per the lease with Sycamore Landscaping that was approved in 2009]; and they are now on the city's radar for NOT doing what they were supposed to...

it is now the city's responsibility to LISTEN to residents who proactively complain about the ponds conditions and therefore the city's responsibility to step in and "Remind" SL of their obligations.

That is funny. Next time I go to the pond I will as them to use the restroom over at the club house. But what you said brings up a great point. For you to make a statement like that is just more proof that this pond has nothing to do with the golf course. It is a city park and should be funded that way. The city should just make a new contract up and pay Cypress landscaping to take care of it. They have it completely backwards. The sad thing about this backwards business is how the Mayor and Dan or proud of what they accomplished. They somehow think it is good for the city. Its not! and its not nice.

HISTORY LESSON ON ANIMAL RIGHTS AND TYRANNY
“Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
Hitler's Nazi Germany was marked by a preoccupation with "animal rights." Hitler's Third Reich passed numerous animal protection laws, such as declaring that shoeing a horse was cruel, and declared an end to dissection. This reduced Man’s status to that of animals, and justified treating men as animals. Before the war was ended, the Nazis stepped up experiments on the best way to castrate a Jew without anesthesia, and turned countless men, women and children into lampshades and soap. These Nazi actions were justifiable by their belief that it was possible to "...increase the moral standing of animals and decrease the moral standing of people, thus integrating human characteristics to animals... elevating animal life to the level of cult worship...which would lead to the spiritual and ideological changes necessary... for a new national identity."
The real political objective of “animal rights” is to eliminate "unalienable rights," and to make way for all these other supposed rights and pervert our Bill of Rights to the point where only the perverted are protected. A favored socialist strategy is to separate the population from common sense and its own laws by bringing about chaos, clouding real issues, then bring about “change” through gradual “legislation from within.” Ruling by planned crisis is the favored method, as this short-circuits the brain’s ability to think and reason clearly about true issues. This planned chaos (such as “animal cruelty,”“puppy mills” and “cock fighting”) is designed to rob the nation of its creativity and life force, degrade human existence, make everything seem uncontrollable and bad, which then allows the introduction of a tyrannical form of government.
The Gestapo was first used by Goring to do away with political opponents. A "temporary" state of emergency was declared after the Reichstag fire, but was never rescinded. This allowed the Gestapo to enforce conformity at every level of society. Block wardens monitored their neighbors, and children were recruited to inform on their teachers and parents. The Gestapo was authorized to hold people in "protective custody" which was really arbitrary arrest and imprisonment. At first, only political prisoners were taken under the guise of "preventive protective custody" and placed in SS-controlled concentration camps; later, anyone was hunted down and taken who was deemed to not fit in with SS and Gestapo vision of a perfect Aryan society.("SS" came from Schutzstaffel which means "elite guard").
Today we see this same conduct and set of circumstances appearing in some of our civic institutions. The only way for one man to achieve dominion and control over another is through the darkness of IGNORANCE. Let’s get educated about our own laws, so that tyranny cannot gain a foothold in America, and so that we can once again have “happiness and good government flowing forth” as paraphrased by all our early education laws. We do have some beautiful laws. Let’s learn them, and insist that our civic institutions obey them for the good of our nation. God Bless America.
