Does anyone know why they include San Ramon as part of the tri-valley on local tv? They interview the mayor of San Ramon and include her on tri valley topics. Being that tri means 3 and San Ramon isn't part of alameda county I'm just curious as to why they include her.

It's because "Tri-Valley" refers to the valleys of San Ramon, Livermore and Amador, not cities as you mention in your question.

The cities/towns that are included in those 3 valleys are: Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, San Ramon and the town of Danville.
