Growing up, all my friends & I would mow lawns, shovel snow, etc to earn money. We even started a small business but can't compete with the guy who charges 50% less because he uses illegals & only pays them a buck or 2 an hour.

There are plenty of out of work Americans that can't get these jobs because they wont work for slave wages. And before you start crying about the illegals are doing it so why can't the Americans - illegals don't pay taxes, get insurance (car or health), etc. So it's easy to live on $100 a month when you don't pay for anything.

Many of these "illegals" would love to have health insurance. But guess what, you have to have a Social Security number to get it. You have to have a liscense to get car insurance and to get a liscense you need a SS#. And so forth and so on. Oh yeah, illegals are really not paid $2 an hour. It ranges from minimum wage to about $25/hr. What can you tell me about the 'citizens' who stand on a corner and ask for money to buy their drugs? Look, I'm really not on any side because I understand that these people are here illegaly, but do you know how HARD it is for them to get here legally? Most of them try to get here legally, wasting anywhere from 3k-5k, just to get denied. In mexico you get about $200 a month and prices for every-day necesities are about the same if not higher. Maybe the U.S. should waste their "WALL-MAKING" money on setting up conferences with the Mexican Gov't to help them help their people. Then we all get a piece of cake.

I do sympathize with people wanting to improve their lives by coming to the United States. However there are MILLIONS of illegals here. How did that happen? We should be screening prospective citizens for health, mental health, ability to work, criminal history, interest in learning the culture and language of the United States, etc. This invasion has created a sub-culture that is isolated and exploited. Labor laws are ignored and the people don't interact with other Americans. They don't assimilate or even speak the language. Having a poor underclass in this country is unacceptable. We are all in a melting pot and have to work together for excellence. Our politicians have to step it up and make sure this invasion stops.

Damn, Lady...where have you been. The U.S. has spent mucho dollars in foreign aid to Mexico. There has been plan after plan (NAFTA was the biggest) to help Mexican citizens find a better life at home. The problem is that so much corruption exists at all levels of government there that the ones who need the help never see it. On top of that we buy large amounts of Mexican oil. We buy Mexican made goods by the truck load. Where does all the money go? Who is really benefiting from it? We do not need more freeloaders here...do not try to tell me that they do not take anything that is free. The husband makes good money and the wife and kids take all they can get that is free. There is no record to connect them to husband's wages.

I agree we have had enough ,so some of these Politicians are fixin to loose thier jobs . we'll vote um out. Maybe we can send them to mexico, or give them a job on the border to stop the aliens while the mexican army has thier heavy machine gus pointed at them, so that they can deliver the drugs. I agree with you, they have turned thier backs on us down here. I lost my last job because of them. They even threatened me with physical violence and when I reported it to my boss, he layed me off. He makes more money with thier cheap labor, and he always has a replacement if one doesn't show for work. I want them all to leave and they aren't all mexicans..

Err go to USAID. You can Google it. US "aid" to Mexico is about 30 million annualy and has been so for a long time. Almost all of that aid is in cross border areas for security and things like joint studies on vaccination, environemental stuff, etc.

Interestingly, in the Arizona papers (Mexico forum) there is an article about Mexicans protesting about NAFTA, and cheaper commodity prices in the U.S. competing against prices Mexican farmers are trying to get. Double reverse snafu here. Makes good reading
